The summer drought has come and gone if this week's releases are any indication. The upcoming 7 days are rife with new releases particularly for PlayStation.

A new trailer for Ubisoft's Watch_Dogs was released today, mere 24 hours since the last trailer got slammed by the internet for its poor quality.

Target have released an advertisement for the Wii U in which the console on show is anything but. If you haven't yet bought one, you'd be forgiven for not knowing what a Wii U console actually looks like. Nintendo spent most of their time advertising focussing on the pad and on the improved visuals over the Wii. If you're a major company trying to sell a bunch of these devices, however, it might make a little sense to actually check your advertisements before you send them out.

The recently released short trailer of the highly anticipated Watch Dogs was met with much critisism from gamers.

The ERSB have released their rating for upcoming Wii U exclusive Sonic Lost World, and it's almost surprising what they found. Although it still managed to get a 10+ E for Everyone rating, it's in the description that things seem to take a turn for the more adult. While some of these phrases might not have batted an eyelid in a kid's product thirty years ago (and even then, it'd be pushing it), by today's standards they're positively vulgar.

Take this one with a pinch of salt, but a number of developments around EarthBound might indicate that something big is on the way. Why take it with a pinch of salt? Because there's nothing definitive here. There's nothing that out and out says "expect Mother 3 to be localized very soon," but at the same time, there certainly does seem to be something happening on the EarthBound side of things.

Activision has announced that they are hard at work supporting the Wii U by bringing new titles to the platform this fall. Pretty dead week this week for releases (especially for consoles). You just know it's a slow week when Smurfs 2 is the headline game.

007 Legends was released on Wii U at the end of last year, and if it had been the only first person shooter available on the system, it might have been enough to kill the genre entirely. It's not that it's actively bad - not when compared with the likes of Ride to Hell: Retribution - but it might be the very definition of generic shooter. The Bond licence has had some stinkers attached to it, but this one is something else.

SEGA, in a new trailer unveiled yesterday, have announced that Sonic: Lost World for the Wii U and 3DS will have shape-shifting power-ups, not entirely unlike Sonic Colors for the Wii. These new powers allow him to transform into a bird, into a musical note, and into the drill that first made its appearance in Colors. This will cause mixed reaction amongst fans, as some (those who didn't play it, mainly) weren't impressed by this particular feature.
