Target Wii U Ad isn’t quite Right

Target have released an advertisement for the Wii U in which the console on show is anything but.

If you haven’t yet bought one, you’d be forgiven for not knowing what a Wii U console actually looks like. Nintendo spent most of their time advertising focussing on the pad and on the improved visuals over the Wii. If you’re a major company trying to sell a bunch of these devices, however, it might make a little sense to actually check your advertisements before you send them out.

Target - Wii U ad

With rounded edges, different placement of the eject button and the word Wii printed on it instead of Wii U, anyone who has ever seen Nintendo’s latest can see there’s a pretty obvious mistake here. It’s also interesting to me that, although the largest portion of this Target ad is given to the Wii U (or not the Wii U, as the case may be), Call of Duty Black Ops II is labelled for PS3 and Xbox only.

The rest of the thread seems by and large filled with people that also aren’t too sure what the Wii U looks like.  Even so, at least they’re not putting out advertisements for them.
