New consoles are incredibly exciting. I still remember living through the many consoles launches of Nintendo, Sony, and Xbox product as a fan, and was able to be on the front-line of the New Nintendo 3DS launch, the Nintendo Switch launch, the Xbox One X launch, and now of course, the PS5 and Xbox Series X launch. Of course the hardware capabilities are incredibly important when launching a new system, but part of what determines the success of a console launch are the titles that ship alongside it. And one company shone brighter than the others.

Almost half of the staff at GamesReviews have been diving into Immortals Fenyx Rising over the past two weeks, and for the most part, we are all really impressive with this brand new IP from Ubisoft Quebec. While borrowing heavily from Assassin's Creed Odyssey, this game does set it's own path with a humerous story and fantastic charactesr that feel unique and alive.

Assassin's Creed has been one of my favourite franchises of all time, and the changes they have made in the last few entries are wonderful in almost every way. While there were a few things in Assassin's Creed Origins and Assassin's Creed Odyssey that I didn't enjoy, some of those issues have been rectified in what I like to call the "New Era" of Assassin's Creed titles. I've been having discussions on Twitter with a bunch of folks around which next generation console feels more next generation, and from an outside perspective without having touched either yet (hopefully soon readers, hopefully soon! Many have been asking!), I've been fairly consistent in saying that PlayStation 5 feels much more next generation than Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S. And that's not a knock on Xbox.
