One of the best light-gun style zombie games ever didn't even use a light gun. Typing of the Dead was a House of the Dead spin-off in which instead of aiming at oncoming undead, you instead typed a random word as quickly as you could.

Gone Home is special. A creation designed to grasp the industry and its fans by their collar, and show them how a mature and painfully honest story should be told. While some games are set in fantastical worlds, such as a floating city or an apocalyptic world, Gone Home prides itself on its simplicity and intimacy. And like any good novel, Gone Home’s strength is the way it rewards people once they uncover and solve the game’s many metaphorical and clever puzzles. It isn’t fantastical by any means, nor is it complex mechanically, but it is immeasurably genuine.

Following the success of The Walking Dead, developer Telltale Games continues its trend of churning out compelling narrative experiences with the recent release of The Wolf Among Us. Based off of the Fables comic book series created by Bill Willingham, which follows recognizable fairy tale characters living in 80s New York, The Wolf Among Us is a delightful prequel that beautifully introduces the creative world Willingham was able to forge back in 2002.

Saints Row IV received some sexy new downloadable content today with Enter the Dominatrix. For $6.99, players get to experience an alternate storyline where the Dominatrix has trapped the Saints in a world filled with pimps, gimps and prostitutes. This latest DLC comes complete with new ways to cause some chaos with some new weapons, new enemies to try them out on, as well as all new missions. Thinking of picking up the Deus Ex Director's Cut? It's probably worth knowing that people with some pretty powerful rigs are finding the game runs terribly at times, with frame rate drops where there definitely shouldn't be. Some are saying the port is obviously rushed, and given its original announcement as a Wii U exclusive, it's not much of a surprise.

A lot of us have been asking just when DayZ Standalone will be released. The top mod has been being converted to a full game for quite some time now, and apart from "when it's ready," and "soon," it doesn't seem we have much information on an actual time and date that we'll be able to buy it. We still don't have a set-in-stone calender entry, but it might be closer than expected.

The final two assassin’s in Batman: Arkham Origins have been revealed, according to a couple of screenshots released by All Games Beta. Although nothing has been confirmed, it seems Killer Croc and Lady Shiva will be the final additions to round out Batman’s rogues gallery in the third installment of the Arkham franchise.  Croc and Shiva join Firefly, Copperhead, Deadshot, Deathstroke, Electrocutioner and Bane, all of whom have joined forces with the sadistic  Black Mask. The time has finally come for The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief to reach its conclusion. This Agatha Christie inspired mystery has had its ups and downs, but has been a relatively enjoyable experience thus far, flaws notwithstanding. The second chapter followed through with the solid writing featured during chapter one's final act, but does it continue here in the third chapter, A Murder of Ravens? Do the puzzles get better, or are they the same humdrum offerings? The answer: not really.
