Magic: The Gathering - Tactics - the online strategy card game first released in 2011 - will close down in March next year. New accounts can no longer be made, and there will be no new sets of cards after November.

Stranger's Wrath HD was a superb re-release of an tragically underrated Xbox game, and the fact it came to PlayStation 3, Vita and PC was very satisfying. Munch's Oddysee HD was due a similar second chance, but unfortunately one of those platforms has had to be dropped... for now, at least.

2K Marin, the developers behind Bioshock 2 and, most recently, The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, have been struck with layoffs, according to sources speaking with Rock, Paper, Shotgun and Polygon. After contacting 2K, a representative told the following to Polygon:  “We can confirm staff reductions at 2K Marin. While these were difficult decisions, we regularly evaluate our development efforts and have decided to reallocate creative resources. As we reported several months ago, Batman Arkham City (and Asylum) are being converted to Steamworks. The update happened tonight (next time you log into Steam, it'll start the download), but there's a real downside that's likely to annoy people more than GFWL ever did.

For all those amongst you feeling charitable, there's a new Humble Bundle available. The Humble Bundle with Android 7 doesn't quite match the quality of some of the more recent bundles, but it sure as hell beats the comedy collection they did. If you fancy some decent games at a relatively small price, look no further.

I'm sure there was a lot of scoffing when they announced the original LEGO Star Wars. Taking a toy license that was based off of a movie license and digitizing it must have seemed like the worst idea in the world, spawning a shoddy mess for children who have no idea what a good game is. Funnily enough, the exact opposite occurred and a gaming phenomenon was born. Now there have been approximately a billion LEGO games since then, all as fun and addictive as the last, and LEGO Lord of the Rings is the latest game in Traveller's Tales quite literal blockbuster series.

Popular title Urban Chaos has been re-released on Steam. If you owned a PlayStation, PC or Dreamcast at the turn of the millennium, you'll probably at least remember its striking lead character and its dark "urban jungle" setting.

It appears that PC gamers, particularly those among the (almost) 600,000 that signed this Change.org petition, are going to get what they want. As Eurogamer reported earlier, according to multiple industry sources, Grand Theft Auto V will be released on PC during the first quarter of 2014. The criminally underrated Enslaved: Odyssey to the West will be getting a re-release on PlayStation 3, and will be available to purchase for the first time on PC, Namco Bandai have today confirmed. There were rumours before - it showed up on the Australian classification board - but it's now official.

While EA has cornered the market on NFL games (by default, really), 2K has appeared to do the same with NBA sports simulations. While publisher Take-Two Interactive has been accused of just releasing roster updates with these annual releases, their series has been known to take risks and tweak major gameplay elements on occasion. NBA 2K14 continues this tradition to a degree, but it's not as crafted and accessible as it should be.
