Nintendo continues to innovate and change when it comes to their Mario Party series, but it's time for them to revert back to what made the game successful back on the N64. Regardless, despite a few issues that plague this particular title, Mario Party 10 is still a game worth a few plays.

Being in media, it is my job to know whats going on with Nintendo. So obviously, I felt a little out-of-the-loop when a review code for Fossil Fighters: Frontiers for 3DS come across my desk. Fossil Fighters is one of those tricky games to review, if only because it's not meant for adults. Fortunately, I had a younger opinion on this title.

OlliOlli is a 2D skateboarding game that has been around since early 2014 but finally made its way via port to XBox One in March of 2015. It's been a long time since we have seen a skateboarding game of value. There has been the Skate series (Skate, 1, 2, 3 released 2007 - 2010) and before that, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 released in 2002. In between that time there hasn't been anything great. OlliOlli is now skating its way onto the scene.

I got some hands on time with Mario Party 10 at a Nintendo of Canada hosted event in Toronto, Canada. Although I've played the game before, a lot more was open to me within the game and I had more time to enjoy it.

A new wave of developers is taking over the consoles and they are releasing polished and interesting games. Some companies do it from a central office - Image and Form Games is based in Sweden, and are best known for SteamWorld Dig and the upcoming SteamWorld Heist - while others are pulling from the best talent around the planets, such as Moon Studios, the company behind Ori and the Blind Forest.

Nintendo was busy today with two big announcements at a press conference. First, Nintendo is partnering with Japanese mobile developer DeNa to release games and apps that feature Nintendo IP. Nintendo's CEO was quick to explain that this would not simply be ports of games already available on other Nintendo platforms, but new and original games and apps.

All kids are different, and all parents are different. The most important thing is for everyone to understand each other and communicate about the subject. If parents have hard rules about content that they want to impose, they have to be able to explain the reasoning behind them so the kids understand the rules and internalize the logic being used. Particularly as kids get to be 9 or 10, they’ll have friends that are “allowed” to play contentious stuff, like ...

Ori and the Blind Forest is one of the best games I have ever played...ever. Not only is the audio and visuals outstanding, but the story off the top is really gripping, making you want to play through the whole thing to see what happens to the beautiful forest that once existed.

What you find in Code Name S.T.E.A.M*. is not your usual London. Instead, you'll find a London powered by steam, full of aliens and...Abraham Lincoln? Yup, this iconic America hero, as well as many other real and fictional characters, all team up to rid London of the nasty alien pests; while this sounds completely wacky - which it is - it also works really well, making it one of the best turn based games I've played in a long time.

Card games are great fun when played with friends, but I've never really felt that they have translated well to consoles. Many have tried, but few have been really successful. Hand of Fate is a mash-up between a card game and a hack and slash game and it works really well. Although there are a number of frame rate and lag issues, Hand of Fate is still an excellent experience on Xbox One.
