Mario Kart 8 Preview

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe launches next week, and multiple websites are pushing out their various previews and reviews. While we do get the opportunity to review most of Nintendo’s products – they did send us a Switch after all! – there are the odd moments where demands far exceeds supply. As a rerelease on a new platform, this appeared to be one of those situations. Don’t worry though, as we will be picking up our own copy next week, and…

Team Kirby Clash Deluxe First Impressions

I have mixed feelings about free-to-play (or free-to-start) games. On the surface, the idea is interesting: free to download games that you can play and if you like, you can buy more levels or items for the games. But the main problem with free-to-start games is that usually the games are too simple and/or just not that fun. I’m including Nintendo in this because I didn’t think the free-to-start Pokémon games nor Steel Diver were that good. However, if anyone…

Attack of the “Retro” RPG: A Preview of Dragon Sinker for 3DS

Back in the NES days, I wasn’t an rpg fan. It wasn’t till years later with Final Fantasy 7 that became an rpg fan. And after I really got into rpgs, I went back and was able to appreciate and like the older rpgs. So whenever an indie developer, say KEMCO for instance, puts together a game in the “retro” rpg style I’m excited. Dragon Sinker for the 3DS (Developed by KEMCO) came out last week. It is a new…

The (Animal) Gods Look Good: A Preview of Animal Gods for Wii U

The Wii U isn’t dead yet. Indie Developers are still, slowly, bringing games to the Wii U. I have had the chance to play one of the more recent Indie games for the Wii U, Animal Gods, thanks to the developer providing me with a review code for the game. I am not yet ready to write a review for Animal Gods, but here is a short preview of the game. Animal Gods for the Wii U came out on…

Farming Simulator – Getting Through the First Hours

For many people, Farming Simulator 2017 can be some what intimidating, and for good reason – there is a lot to think about, a lot to know, and often, multiple ways to do any one given job. I’ve always felt this series has been harder to attach to then other simulator titles, but I managed, and here is how! Initially, your first few hours within the game will be limited by the funds you have and getting those first crops…

Helping the Friendly Monsters: A Look At Gurumin 3D for 3DS

3D action platformers seem to be making a comeback these days. For awhile, we were seeing mostly just 2D platformers, but now 3D platformers seem like all the rage. Gurumin 3D: A Monstrous Adventure for the 3DS is a 3D action platformer, but its also has rpg and puzzle elements too. The game is out now for the 3DS eshop. We received a review code for the game, however our review isn’t ready yet. We wanted to give you a…

Rise of the Tomb Raider 20th Anniversary Edition PS4

Last year, we reviewed Rise of the Tomb Raider for the Xbox One. This past week, we got to play through the entire game again, this time on the PS4, courtesy of Square Enix. While much of the game plays the same on the PS4 as on the Xbox One – outside a few noticeable graphical enhancements – a few new modes and DLC is being launched alongside this release. While the DLC is available on all systems, we are…

Carefully Choose Your Paper Mario: Color Splash Battle Cards

Yesterday, we talked about Paper Mario: Color Splash’s graphics. But everybody knows, it doesn’t matter how good your game looks if the gameplay isn’t any good. Thankfully, it looks like Paper Mario: Color Splash has a cool battle system to go along with its cool graphics! In Paper Mario: Color Splash, the battles start on the TV screen. Mario will just be wandering along, minding his own business, when suddenly an enemy attacks him!! Alright, sometimes Mario is the one…

Agricola games on iOS

There really is only one thing I love more than video games when it comes to the plethora of entertainment options, and that would be board games. I generally love them all, from the well know Monopoly, Clue, Risk, and yes, even Settlers of Catan – which is now mainstream – to the less popular Viticulture, Dominion, Settlers of Skye, and so many more. One board game that I jumped on early was Agricola, an incredibly challenging and insanely long…

ReCore – First Impressions

This morning the review embargo for ReCore lifted ahead of its launch tomorrow, and based on what I’m seeing, reviews are very mixed. We’ve played it for 4 or 5 hours so far, and while the game begins on a big high, things begin to crumble quickly. Early, everything in ReCore feels outstanding. Finding the collectibles is a blast, using your robot allies is fun, the puzzles are engaging for the most part, and things look and sound great. After…
