Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Edition Review

Launch week for the Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Edition on Xbox One was disastrous. Server issues trumped all the dialogue surrounding the game, including inability to load, waiting over an hour to get into a game, or having to log out to fix any number of in-game glitches. However, the benefit of holding off on a review until a week or two after launch is really understand what the game is all about.

Batman Arkham Knight Early Impressions

The Batman games have evolved over time, and each has built on the last. In the final installment, Batman Arkham Knight, the developers over at Rocksteady Studios really brought their A game to this final installment, and it clicks on all levels.

LEGO Jurassic World Review

LEGO Jurassic World combines everything I liked about LEGO video games and largely removes the only thing I really hated: the combat. With the focus on combat gone, Travelers Tales has given more time to environmental destruction, helpful hints for those young LEGO fans, and more puzzles to complete. Oh yes, and dinosaurs.

Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven

Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven will have you scratching your head in bewilderment on numerous occasions during this short - for Japanese Role Playing Game standards - but dynamic title. Fortunately, Marvelous picked up the pieces and presented us with this 'different' and exciting JRPG.

LEGO Jurassic World Early Impressions

LEGO games are generally always good, but unfortunetly, very few have been great. Jurassic World is good, but noticeably different from other LEGO titles. This is actually a really good thing, especially for people with limited time or parents with younger children.

Elder Scrolls Online Xbox One Early Impressions

I generally hate MMO's. Let me rephrase that: I loathe MMO's. I just never saw the fun in typing to chat, spending half my game play time swapping weapons and potions, or having to find a guild to truly enjoy the game. I want to play an MMO on my own time, which sometimes is only a few hours a week. Most MMO's don't give that kind of freedom. ESO definitely does.

Nintendo a bit lackluster at E3

Like last year, Nintendo opted to air a 45 minute digital event rather than hold a traditional press conference. To their credit, their use of Muppet-like dolls actually made me chuckle a little bit, and had my son rolling on the flour with laughter. It was a bit odd, but I guess it worked.

Ubisoft Comes out Swinging with Big Titles, Big DLC

Ubisoft's press conference lacked any real surprises until near the end, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Unfortunately for them, they had a tough Microsoft press conference to live up to. I think they did fairly well, despite the lack of 'exciting' announcements.
