20 Years of Halo, By the Numbers
As we get closer and closer to the launch of Halo Infinite its time to get ready for the Xbox Anniversary Celebration on Monday, November 15.
With that in mind, lets take a look back at the history of Halo and Master Chief, the most iconic representation for Xbox as a brand and a franchise.
- 81 million copies have been sold worldwide
- $6 Billion in worldwide product sales to date
- 3 million players of Halo: The Master Chief Collection on PC and Xbox One during launch week.
- 41 Million hours of The Master Chief Collection on PC were played by fans in 2020.
- Halo games have collectively garnered more than 1000 media and industry awards, accolades and nominations.
- Received more then 100 “Game of the Year” awards from major media organizations, as well as multiple “Game of the Decade” accolades for its impact on the industry and global pop culture.
- Over 30 novels, live action adaptations, upcoming feature TV series on Paramount+
- Alongside the likes of Mario and Donkey Kong, the Master Chief has been consistently ranked amonth the most recognized video game characters of all time, appearing in lists from Guiness, Empire and more.
