A survey from Microsoft which popped up on Reddit today indicated that the video game and software company was toying with the idea of offering a trade-in for digital purchases. Microsoft announced yesterday that the Xbox Live Games with Gold for February will lead off with an action-RPG and card game called Hand of Fate starting on February 1st for Xbox One. Microsoft will then follow up with Styx: Master of Shadows as you play a stealth goblin on February 16, also on Xbox One.

Microsoft has announced the latest and greatest of free Games with Gold for Xbox 360 and Xbox One, along with this week being your final chance to download August's Games with Gold selection.

Great news has come our way as starting in July there will be two games offered on Xbox One instead of the standard one new game monthly. As seen in the above image Microsoft confirms that Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag will be offered throughout the entire month of July on Xbox One. While the new title So Many Me will be offered for a month as well but starting on July 16 until August 15.

Card games are great fun when played with friends, but I've never really felt that they have translated well to consoles. Many have tried, but few have been really successful. Hand of Fate is a mash-up between a card game and a hack and slash game and it works really well. Although there are a number of frame rate and lag issues, Hand of Fate is still an excellent experience on Xbox One.

A five year old boy found a gap in the Xbox Live security and has been rewarded by Microsoft for his part in fixing the flaw. When Kristoffer Von Hassel's parents found he was managing to sneak into his father's account to access games he wasn't supposed to, they questioned how he was doing it. Turned out that, instead of inputting the correct password, he was instead fixing the entry form with spaces. This was enough to allow him access.

The popular Games with Gold program for the Xbox 360 is no longer being classified as “limited-time” and will be an ongoing service. Games with Gold was introduced at E3 2013, and has since been dishing out two free games a month to Gold subscribers, with the most recent being Halo 3.
