Bitoku Board Game Review

Looking at Bitoku, you would be forgiven if you thought you were in for one of the most complicated games of your life. While on the surface this appears to be true, once you’ve learned the turn-by-turn structure of the game, things begin to flow really well and then it’s just about decisions, as opposed to wondering what might happen if you do x, y or z. Bitoku still isn’t a light game, and is probably bordering on that heavy…

Doomlings Expansions Overview and Thoughts

Doomlings was a game my family really enjoyed, and I’m so glad that the company sent over a copy of the game for us to play. Honestly, it is a game I’ve been looking at for a long time, and while I’m not opposed to purchasing games myself, we have so many come through the office that even if I do purchase games, they often sit in shrink for months. With a review opportunity, I HAD to play Doomlings, and…

Playmobil Wiltopia is at McDonalds Canada

Playmobil Canada is celebrating 50 years, and what better way to celebrate than collaborating with the worlds most recognizable fast food chain to release toys in happy meals. That’s right, Playmobil animals are now available at McDonalds Canada! Wiltopia has quickly become my son Lincoln’s favourite Playmobil theme, so when we stopped for after soccer ice cream at our local McDonald’s, we were thrilled to see these available! At a cost of $2.00 per toy, you can walk into you…

Wiltopia – Anteater Care (721012) Review

If you saw our review of the Wiltopia Animal Care Centre, you will remember that we were very excited about this line of Playmobil products. I have always loved animals, and animal toys are almost just as good as the real thing. For a long time now, I've wanted Playmobil to do a Zoo line of toys, with enclosures and everything. Who doesn't want to build a zoo? The Wiltopia sets, however, are the next best thing, and each comes with a few little animals, so our home collection is slowly growing. Let's take a look at the Anteater Care set!

World Wonders Components Overview and First Impressions

World Wonders took the board game world by storm when it was first announced, and copies of the game quickly flew off shelves – including at GenCon 2023. This was a game I was hoping to pickup, but availability, even here in Canada at 401 Games and Board Game Bliss (our largest online retailers) has been near impossible. Recently, Arcane Wonders sent over a copy of the game along with the Mundo expansion, so let’s take a look at the…

Annunaki: Dawn of the Gods Board Game Review

Annunaki: Dawn of the Gods is a 4x board game that can be played in under two hours. While I was skeptical that this was really the case, I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that was very true. While it might not have the same meatiness of other 4x board games, I think what you get here is fantastic, and the time you spend playing for what you get in the experience is fantastic. Let’s take a more…

Why Perspectives is my Favorite Detective Board Game

I have to start this article by issuing an apology to Asmodee Canada – many months ago, Asmodee sent over a box of games to review, and somehow Perspectives landed on a shelf it wasn’t supposed to be on, and we missed reviewing it all together. I also have to apologize to myself, because I could have been playing one of the best detective board games currently available, but instead it was sitting on a shelf hidden among the 100s…
