We are back with another great article about games to play this Halloween season! This time around, we are looking at Mysterium Park, which is a slimmed down, quicker version of Mysterium which we looked at last week. You can read about that here.

Do you like ghosts, murder mysteries, and psychics? Than Mysterium might be the cooperative, fun to play experience you are looking for. No, we aren't talking about a video game here, but instead a fun game to play this Halloween with friends and family. Let's take a look at Mysterium!

Right before the pandemic hit, Escape Rooms were all the rage in North America. Whether an official escape room by a professional company, or a home made experience, folks love to work together to piece together clues to escape their surroundings. Many companies have taken this concept and adapted it for board games, but as far as we know, only one will allow you to play a game, and pass it along to a friend afterwards. Today, our first Halloween With Asmodee article will be focusing on Unlocked! Escape Adventure.

So after a few days with Dustbiters, a fun quick card game from a wide range of talented individuals, I'm pretty sure I've found one of my favourite little go-to games for playing with my wife and kids. It's quick, easy to learn, and can be picked up at a moments notice and a game finished within 15 minutes. It's the ideal kind of game for the Roffel household. But is it for you?

How can you not want to play a card game that was introduce on Kickstarter by Tim Schafer? Ya, that's pretty rad, we thought so too. Dustbiters, the fast passed and quick game of rival car gangs is hitting the popular crowd funding platform, and you can join in the fun and get some limited Kickstarter merchandise with your pledge right now! But what is this game all about? Honestly, are we really going to purchase a game just because Tim Schafer did the promo video (yes, yes we are.)?

There isn't a major franchise that board game companies won't exploit for a solid payday, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. Over the past few years, we've played a few fantastic TV / Movie / Video Game inspired board games, our favourite being Game of Thrones Catan! While never a big World of Warcraft player, a board game in that universe is something I can get behind, and Z-Man games is set to deliver on that this fall!

Over the past few weeks, I've been playing Red Rising, one of the newer board games from Stonemaier Games. For whatever reason, I never felt that Red Rising fit into the mould of games that Stonemaier was creating and publishing, and even after playing, it definitely feels different. While many of Stonemaier's previous games are deep dives that can take up to a few hours to complete, Red Rising - based on a popular book series - is fairly quick after you've learned the ins and outs of all the cards you'll be playing.

A few years ago, we took a look at the fantastic Stonemaier title, Between Two Castles of Mad King Ludwig, which combined elements of the infamous games Between Two Cities, and Castles of Mad King Ludwig. We reviewed the game and really loved the castle building, tile laying aspect. And really, we had no complaints with the original game. I've never been a huge fan of Settlers of Catan - for longtime board game fans, Settlers of Catan has fallen into the category of casual board games, alongside the likes of Monopoly, Sorry, and The Game of Life. It once was at the cutting edge of the board game space, but it no longer has the charm and strategic elements necessary to play with the big boys like Tapestry, Scythe, and others. Late in 2019, we reviewed a revolutionary new toy from Ravensburger called Gravitrax, and at that time we called it one of the best toys currently available on the marketplace. Two years later, and prior to receiving the Gravitrax Pro sets for review, I would have echoed that statement.
