Samsung has had a number of great news items come out of CES 2018, but one of the most important to myself is the unveiling of the Thunderbolt 3 QLED Curved Monitor. New Update Coming to Super Mario Odyssey

Super Mario Odyssey was one of the BEST games of 2017, and received outstanding scores from almost every media outlet on the planet. It wasn't just because 'open world' 3D Mario games had been a thing of the past, but how well Nintendo returned to that gameplay style. The fun hasn't stopped for Super Mario Odyssey, and in today's first Nintendo Direct of 2018, the company announced new updates coming in the near future!

Porting Games from Wii U to Switch Isn’t Lazy, It’s Smart

With another Nintendo Mini Direct in the books, the gloves are off and writers around the world are going to start dissecting what Nintendo is offering fans. The initial impression for some wasn't great: too many Wii U games and older games on other systems being ported to Switch. Based on the low install base of the Wii U, and that many Nintendo fans ONLY own Nintendo consoles, bringing all of these 'older' titles to the Nintendo Switch is actually a really ...

First Run Movies on Disney Cruise Line

If you've ever been able to watch a movie onboard a cruise ship, there is a really good chance you've sailed on Disney Cruise Line before. While some other cruise ships do have theatres on board that can accommodate movie showings, no other company provides the quantity and quality of movies on board, than Disney Cruise Line. Want to watch the latest Disney release in an actual movie theatre, complete with concessions? Disney has you covered, and it is one of ...

Samsung’s “The Wall” is Pushing Boundaries

I'm going out on a limb and saying that EVERYONE who loves gaming, movies, and technology in general has been sitting around for the last number of years saying, "I really want a 146 inch modulre TV from Samsung." Well, all of our prayers have been answered, as Samsung officially unveiled The Wall during CES 2018, yesterday. While I joke about everyone wanting this technology, it is a rather impressive initiative from Samsung, one that I think will garner a ton ...

ARK Aberration – Why ARK: Survival Evolved Was My Most Played Game on Xbox in 2017

According to my stats from Xbox Canada, I played a lot of games on my Xbox One in 2017, some on the original Xbox One, some on the Xbox One S, and a TON on the Xbox One X! One of those games that got an uptick in play time near the end of the year was ARK: Survival Evolved. This was for two reasons: first, ARK developers released a 4K update for the game which I wanted to see for myself on the Xbox One X; second, the latest expansion for ARK was recently ...

Three Things Assassin’s Creed Origins Doesn’t Need…But Would Be Cool

Assassin's Creed Origins is easily one of the best games released in 2017, and it has even taken my top spot amongst Assassin's Creed titles since the original, topping my previous all-time favorite, Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag. From start to finish, exploring Ancient Egypt and removing its citizens from the grasp of a tyrannical leader was an amazing experience. With so much to do, there really was never a dull moment. Quests were varied, and the chance ...

Top 3 Things We Want in a Pokémon Game on Switch

We all know that a Pokémon game is coming to the Nintendo Switch, hopefully in 2018, but the details of such a game are currently in the dark. Will it be an upgraded version of what has been working on handhelds for 20+ years, or will it be something in the vein of Pokémon Snap? Or, will Nintendo look to do something crazy and different, bringing the franchise in a new direction? My bet is on an experience that mimics the turn based games we've come to enjoy on ...

LEGO Batman Movie Series 2 Figures Available Now

The LEGO Minifigure series' have been insanely popular for The LEGO Group since their inception a number of years ago, and while I'm not big into collecting the generic sets - although they do make great extras when putting together a LEGO town! - I'm a big fan of the franchise sets, including the LEGO Simpsons, LEGO Ninjago, and of course, LEGO Batman! Beginning in 2018, it appears as if LEGO is doing something different with their baseplates, which is ...

Undead Dragons coming to Elder Scrolls Online

It has been a few months since I picked up Elder Scrolls Online and put some significant time into it, but with a new paid Dragon Bones DLC and free Update 17 on the horizon, that is about to change. Bethesda announced today that new features are coming to the popular online multiplayer experience, that brings not only new content, but features that long time fans have been asking about for a long time.
