Xbox One “Sold Out” Around the World

XboxOne-Stats_690x690

Earlier this week, Sony confirmed that they’d sold over two million PlayStation 4 units worldwide. Microsoft have yet to officially confirm their sales numbers (and I suppose there’s no reason that they have to), but they have said that they’re sold out in retailers around the world. But who cares about any of that? How are Microsoft doing when measured in ZOMBIES?!

In a statement issues to Ars Technica, Microsoft exec Yusuf Mehdi explained where Microsoft are right now:

Xbox VP Yusuf Mehdi didn’t provide any solid update on sales numbers, but he did say that Microsoft is “seeing record breaking sales and [we] are selling every Xbox One we can make. Demand is far exceeding supply in the 13 countries we’ve launched and we are sold out at retailers around the world.” Mehdi added that 50 million man-hours have been spent on the system so far, and he said that the company has been “humbled and gratified” by the response to the system’s roll out.

So it appears – as it should, if PR are doing their job – that everything is cushty. More important than sales numbers though, Microsoft also revealed how the Xbox One is doing via gaming statistics. And with over 3 billion zombies killed, it sounds like Microsoft is definitely doing it for someone (albeit probably not zombie hunters).

The Xbox One launched worldwide almost a fortnight ago.
