Xbox Games Showcase: Grounded Coming to Xbox One July 28

Obsidian’s next big gaming experience is hitting Xbox One on July 28th, and I personally cannot be more excited. With hundreds of hours played in similar games – Hello ARK Survival Evolved! – I cannot wait to dive into Grounded with friends.

Here is a bit from the Xbox Game Store:

The world is a vast, beautiful, and dangerous place – especially when you have been shrunken to the size of an ant. Explore, build, and survive together in this cooperative survival-adventure. Can you thrive alongside the hordes of giant insects, fighting to survive the perils of the backyard? Join our community and help shape the future of Grounded in Xbox Game Preview.

The game promises a reactive world, where giant bugs will be around every corner, waiting for you to venture out from your safe base and into the wild. Like similar survival titles, players will be able to create large bases as an operations base, allowing players to craft, store gear, and prepare for journey’s into the unknown.

Since there is a campaign to play through, I’m going to assume that players will have the option to play alone, although an ever present internet connection is likely required. However, from all the trailers – and from the Xbox Games Showcase look – it appears as if, like other survival titles, Grounded is best played with friends.

While bug of any size have me running for the hills in real life, I cannot wait to shrink down and explore the vast expanse of some random person’s back yard. Who knows what we will uncover, but I cannot wait to try it out when it comes to Xbox Game Preview on July 28th.
