Last week during E3, Nintendo and Square Enix released a new demo for Octopath Traveler. We had seen a demo before for the game, but this new one had some improvements and also let you play as any of the eight characters in the full game. I've been playing this demo a lot. Here are my thoughts on Octopath Traveler's newest demo!

Nintendo at E3 2018 was a blast! We went back to visit my colleagues as the Nintendo Booth of E3 again this year. We had a lovely exchange and then Julie took me up to play the upcoming Nintendo Switch titles. E3 2018 is over. That's it folks. It went by so fast! And I have a lot of mixed feeling about this E3. I'll get into that, plus who I thought won E3 and what my favorite games were. Lets get to it. Final E3 column of the year!

Soccer Slammers is on Switch to celebrate the World Cup! Atooi are doing a lot of good games for the Nintendo Switch. The tower defense genre can be a mixed bag at times. I’ve played some tower defense games that were really good, others that had potential but were a bit too complex, and still others that were too simple. Warner Bros did not disappoint at E3 2018! I didn’t realize it until my booth tour was over with WB, but villainy was definitely the theme. I only played two titles, but I was a Hitman in one and a DC villain aiding the Joker in a prison escape in the others. I am now realizing how infrequently play villains, and I have say, I loved it. Another delightful surprise, both of these games will release before the end of the year, so players will get a chance to try on the feeling of being wicked in not too long.

Fortnite came to the Nintendo Switch yesterday. If you have a Switch, you probably already know that. Its been reported that 2 million people have downloaded the game so far! And thats just in 24 hours! Who knows how many people will download it in the end. It is a free download on the Switch eshop. If you don’t have it, I recommend getting it. Why? Daemon X Machina was perhaps the biggest surprise of Nintendo’s E3 Direct. It was a game we had never heard of before and knew zero about. Octopath Traveler is coming out for the Nintendo Switch next month. Today, during Treehouse Live, Nintendo showed off more of the game and also announced that the game would be available for pre-purchase from the Nintendo Switch eshop starting today.
