Attack of the “Retro” RPG: A Preview of Dragon Sinker for 3DS

Back in the NES days, I wasn’t an rpg fan. It wasn’t till years later with Final Fantasy 7 that became an rpg fan. And after I really got into rpgs, I went back and was able to appreciate and like the older rpgs. So whenever an indie developer, say KEMCO for instance, puts together a game in the “retro” rpg style I’m excited. Dragon Sinker for the 3DS (Developed by KEMCO) came out last week. It is a new…

Nintendo Switch Nindies Showcase

Nintendo had a special Nintendo Switch Nindies Showcase video on youtube today. In the video, they showed off Indie games that are coming to the Nintendo Switch this year. We have that video here for you, plus my thoughts on some of the games and a press release from Nintendo! I thought the Nindies showcase video was fantastic! There were a lot of good looking games in that video, but there were three games specifically that stuck out to me.…

Back to Bed Review

One of the best things about Indies is that they are not afraid of being weird. Indies generally take more chances than third party developers and create games that are unique and interesting. Not all of these unique and interesting games are good, but I love how Indies are willing to experiment. Take, for instance, Back to Bed for Wii U. You would not see a third party, maybe not even a first party developer, create a game about saving a sleepwalker.

I’m Going Back to Bed: A Look At A Unique Wii U Indie Game

I’m tired. I don’t feel like writing this article. I think I’ll go Back to Bed. Wait. What’s this? There’s a game for the Wii U called Back to Bed? Alright. I guess I can tell you about this game. I did just get the review code for this game yesterday, so I’ll only be able to tell you a little about it. My full review will hopefully be up next week! For now, let’s take a short look at…

Plantera Review

If Harvest Moon and a cute 2D tower defense game had a love child, it might look like Plantera for the Wii U and 3DS eshops. Build a garden, add animals, and defend that garden like crazy from outside threats! Plantera sounds like it might be a good game for simulation and tower defense fans…but is it? The Wii U and 3DS versions of Plantera have some differences but the basic gameplay is the same between the two versions. Let’s…

Legna Tactica Review

Final Fantasy Tactics. Disaega. Fire Emblem. Legna Tactica. Wait. What was that last one? Legna Tactica is a brand new strategy rpg for the 3DS eshop. Much like the other games named, you’ll be moving your characters across squares in various levels. Legna Tactica shares a lot in common with the games I mentioned, but is it a good game or just a cheap rip-off of other strategy rpgs? Legna Tactica has way too much dialogue! Its similar to Fire…

Grow a Garden Worth Defending in Plantera for Wii U and 3DS

I love simulation games. I could go on for hours and hours about Animal Crossing New Leaf for the 3DS. I’m not as big a fan of tower defense style games, but I’ve played a few good ones. What do you get when you combine a garden sim game with a 2D style tower defense game? It may be something like Plantera for the Wii U and 3DS. I just got review codes of both the 3DS and Wii U…
