Deciding which games my kids get to play in any given day, and how long they can play them, is very important for me. On my current systems - Wii U, PS4, and Xbox One - I have a mixture of quality kid titles and games they probably shouldn't see until they are at least 21. Unfortunetly, the lack of parental controls means they can see basically everything if they really want to, and launch any game they want. Nintendo is launching great parental controls for the Nintendo Switch which can all be set using your smart phone.

There is nothing more frustrating when it comes to video game releases than when things are region locked. Whether it is because you might be someone from Asia living in America or vice versa, or even someone who just enjoyed playing Asian or western games, region locking has always prevented that. According to Nintendo, region locking will be a thing of the past, so when that JRPG releases a year earlier in Asia than North America, you can now import that, if you wish.

Say what you want about Nintendo, when they rerelease something they always do a great job. This is once again the case for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which not only comes with all the DLC from the Wii U version, but also brings a bunch of new additions, and game mode changes. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will be available in April 2017, and is one of our most anticipated Switch games for 2017!

We are working on doing a run down of our most anticipated Switch titles as we barrel towards the March 3rd release date. I just secured my own preorder this morning, and am getting really excited for what will be coming out throughout the rest of 2017. First thing this morning, I don't want to look at the obvious choice - The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - but rather, another game that will be a mega hit, Super Mario Odyssey.

Recently, we found out that Rime would be coming to the Nintendo Switch (and other systems). Since then, the developer has been sharing more footage of the game on IGN. We have the latest video about the game below.   Wow! Rime really does look amazing. It is reminding me of Ico more and more. I wasn’t a huge fan of Ico, but I did like the graphics. Lego City Undercover is one of my favorite Wii U games. I am still surprised that the game remained a Wii U exclusive for so long. Of course, all good things come to an end (especially when dealing with third party developers) and Lego City Undercover will be going to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC this Spring. We will have LOTS of coverage of the Nintendo Switch over the next few months leading up to the launch of the system, and we will be working closely with Nintendo of Canada to make sure all the important information is front and centre for you the reader. That includes a full system review, and game reviews right around launch day. It all really begins tonight, however, with the long presentation from Nintendo which you will able to see at 8 PM PT, 10 Central, and 11 Eastern on Nintendo's YouTube channel.

Yacht Club Games announced today that Shovel Knight will be making it way to Nintendo Switch! They will also be updating the game in various ways across multiple platforms.
