More Thoughts From Me: Xbox’s Retro Game “Netflix”

What if I told you there was a new app that you could get where you stream retro arcade/console/PC games? Would you be interested in that? If your answer is yes, then please read on while I tell you about Antstream Arcade. A digital code was provided to me to check it out and now I have thoughts on it.

Antstream Arcade is a new service that provides over 1,300 games for players to stream to their Xbox. These are old arcade, console, and PC games. I had the chance to check it out and…

Honestly, its awesome! The library of retro games is jaw dropping. From the original Mortal Kombat, to Double Dragon, Atari games like Space Invaders and Defenders, shooters, racers, and even…oh my…classic LucasArts games!

Let me talk about the LucasArts games for a second. I totally did not expect to find these games here. Maniac Mansion, Day of the Tentacle, Monkey Island games, Zombies Ate My Neighbors and its sequel, classic Star Wars games, and classic Indiana Jones PC games. This is a really stunning lineup. In my opinion, the Antstream app is worth it alone for this collection of games. Wow. Just stunning.

There are just so many other games though. The library of games here available to play are huge. There are a lot of well known games and of course little known ones too. You could spend hours upon hours exploring Anstream Arcade.

How well does it work though? I suppose that depends on how well your internet is. The games seem to run really well on my internet. Though there was one time when it took a little too long to load the app but finally went into it. Haven’t had any trouble at all running the games so far.

As far as the controls go, arcade and console games play better than the PC games, but if you can get to playing cursor games on your Xbox, then its not a bad way to experience the games.

If you haven’t figured it out yet, I’ll spell it out: I love Antstream Arcade. Its a really amazing addition to the Xbox. I can’t wait to explore its library more. I hear they will be adding even more games too!

What do you think of Anstream Aracade?

More Thoughts From Me is an opinon column. The thoughts expressed here are mine and mine alone. Can’t wait to see what games are added next!
