Last week during E3, Nintendo and Square Enix released a new demo for Octopath Traveler. We had seen a demo before for the game, but this new one had some improvements and also let you play as any of the eight characters in the full game. I've been playing this demo a lot. Here are my thoughts on Octopath Traveler's newest demo!

Jurassic World has just launched in theatres, and the game based on the franchise has just launched on console. Jurassic World Evolutions is the Rollercoaster Tycoon of dinosaur games, allowing players to build structures, create dinosaurs, and establish a park that will make them a tidy profit. While these types of games always work great on PC, the transfer over to the Xbox One or PS4 is never as smooth.

Nintendo at E3 2018 was a blast! We went back to visit my colleagues as the Nintendo Booth of E3 again this year. We had a lovely exchange and then Julie took me up to play the upcoming Nintendo Switch titles. Thank again to Nintendo of Canada for setting us up with this fantastic opportunity, as well as Julie for the fantastic tour once again!

Only a few times in any generation of consoles do we get a title like Yoku's Island Express, a game full of charm, but coupled with fantastic unique gameplay that makes you realize you are playing something truly special. One part Metroidvania and one part pinball, Yoku's Island Express balances both ideas perfectly. Team 17 has created and published something truly special, and they deserve a ton of praise for it!

Warner Bros did not disappoint at E3 2018! I didn’t realize it until my booth tour was over with WB, but villainy was definitely the theme. I only played two titles, but I was a Hitman in one and a DC villain aiding the Joker in a prison escape in the others. I am now realizing how infrequently play villains, and I have say, I loved it. Another delightful surprise, both of these games will release before the end of the year, so players will get a chance to try on the feeling of being wicked in not too long.

Fortnite came to the Nintendo Switch yesterday. If you have a Switch, you probably already know that. Its been reported that 2 million people have downloaded the game so far! And thats just in 24 hours! Who knows how many people will download it in the end. It is a free download on the Switch eshop. If you don’t have it, I recommend getting it. Why? Daemon X Machina was perhaps the biggest surprise of Nintendo’s E3 Direct. It was a game we had never heard of before and knew zero about. The brief teaser yesterday during the Direct didn’t really tell us much. We knew it was a game involving mechs but not much else. Live Gameplay was shown during today’s Treehouse Live! Octopath Traveler is coming out for the Nintendo Switch next month. Today, during Treehouse Live, Nintendo showed off more of the game and also announced that the game would be available for pre-purchase from the Nintendo Switch eshop starting today. Cyberpunk 20177 is here folks, and the hype begins! While you might best no the team from CD PROJEKT RED because of their work on the Witcher series - including the Witcher 3 which might be one of the best games of this generation! - the team has closed the door for the time being on a large open world Witcher title, and have instead set their sights on a new adventure.
