Assassin’s Creed 3 Remastered Review

It’s been over a decade since Assassin’s Creed 3 first landed on consoles around the world, and it was disappointing day for everyone involved, yes even for Ubisoft. While the concept of taking the Assassin’s v. Templar battle to the colonies of North America seemed like a fantastic idea – and in reality, it was – the execution was short of deplorable, with glitches beyond counting, graphical inconsistencies, and complete breakdowns. It had all the makings of a good Assassin’s Creed title, but lacked the end-game execution. In 2019, can Ubisoft rectify all ...

The Division 2 Review

In an age of early access games and update-driven releases, it is a rarity indeed to find a game that, upon release, truly feels like a finished product. Too often are developers pressured into pushing their games out too quickly, leading to outrage from the community and an overall poor experience. The lesson to be learned here is that quality cannot be rushed, and that developers need to remind gamers of this fact and not allow themselves to make compromises for an earlier release date. Ubisoft, for its part, has certainly known for its resistance to this ...

One Piece: World Seeker Review

If you've played a One Piece game in the past, there won't be too much familiar here outside the main cast of characters, of which only Luffy is playable. Instead of falling back on the decades old mechanics and game play of past titles, the development team decided to look to new heights, and tackled an ambitious, open world approach to the game. Does it pay of after the nearly 20 hour campaign? Let's dive in!

Trials Rising Review

Right from the get-go, looking at the cover graphics of Ubisoft’s Trials Rising, you can make a good guess of what you are going to see when you first fire this game up. Cool graphics, lots of loops, jumps and racing adventure. As this game comes from a publisher which has given us epics like the Far Cry and Assassin's Creed series, I had high expectations right out of the gate. Yes, the opening cinematic and music told me there was fun and adventure to come – crack open the throttle and let's get going!

Anthem Review

Striving to dominate the MMO console-shooter world, EA's newest title, Anthem, has landed. Anthem puts you in the driver's seat of 'Iron Man' style mech suits that you fly around in to dispatch hordes of enemies. However, as tends to happen when a game receives an abundance of pre-release hype (did you too receive dozens of ads on Twitch and YouTube for this game? I sure did!), the community has quickly revolted on Anthem and its creators. This begs the question, does Anthem really deserve all the hate? Or the hype it garnered before that? Let's take a look!

The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame Review

The LEGO Movie 2 was a fantastic experience when I went and saw it in theatres, and whenever there is a great cinema experience, there are high hopes for the LEGO game that spins off from that. LEGO titles over the last number of years have really been hit-and-miss, so jumping into any LEGO experience always has the potential for disappointment. The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame takes a much different route than other LEGO games based on movies, and while this isn't all bad, we felt the game ultimately shipped a few weeks - potentially months? - too early. Let's dive in!

Far Cry New Dawn logo

Far Cry New Dawn Review

I usually do my best to avoid any story spoilers, but when providing context for Far Cry New Dawn, that seems a near impossible task. So here we go, an official Spoiler Alert: At the end of Far Cry 5, a nuclear weapon is detonated over Hope County. This sets in motion a chain of events that lead to New Dawn, set 17 years into the post-apocalyptic life of the same region. A new threat has emerged and taken control of the region, and once again it is up to us to stop them.

Crackdown 3 Review-in-Progress

It has been quite the journey for Crackdown 3, which was first announced in 2014 but was continually delayed. Now the game is going to see the light of day and we had a chance to play the games campaign early. Is it as good as we all hoped? For better or for worse, it is simply more Crackdown. Let’s dive in!

Mutant Year Zero main

Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden Review

Released last December by developer The Bearded Ladies Consulting and publisher Funcom, Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden is a turn-based tactical RPG that utilizes elements of real-time stealth and an intriguing storyline to bring an experience that can only be described as a next-level XCOM. The devs draw this parallel themselves, and with the two so closely linked, one has to wonder if Mutant Year Zero can do enough to set itself apart from its own inspiration. Let’s dive in and find out!
