Peach’s Castle Expansion – LEGO Super Mario

One of the things that has disappointed me the most about LEGO Super Mario is that most of the sets don’t really display all that well. These are LEGO sets meant for playing with, not just displaying. Sure, the various characters do look great on the shelf, but in general, entire sets do not. I do believe that the Bowsers Air Ship set probably would display well, but not many others. Peach’s Castle, however, displays beautifully (not on a 12-inch shelf mind you), and is fun to build too! Let’s dive in.

Super Mario Movie Toys Review – 5” Figures & 7” Bowser

The toys that are being released alongside the Super Mario Bros. Movie are insane, and fans cannot get enough. For a long time, collecting the figures from Jakks was for two specific groups of people - the massive number of kids who wanted to play with the toys, and the few adults looking to collect. There was, and may be still is, a massive group of people who are not actively purchasing Super Mario toys - the gamers. And after the hype around these releases, I think Jakk’s Pacific has finally cracked the code.

Wiltopia Research Tower with Compass Playmobil Review

Over the last few weeks, my 4 year old Lincoln has been diving back into the world of Playmobil, checking out the various sets we've purchased and received in the past, and taking a few new review sets for a spin. While he does love all of his Playmobil, a few sets are standing out to him recently. They all belong to the Wiltopia line. We've had the pleasure of looking at both the Animal Care Station and the Anteater Care sets, and now we are moving onto something new: the Research Tower with Compass set. Let's check it out!

Get Ready for MAR10 (Mario Day) with LEGO

March 10th might not mean a lot to some people, but those with a love of Nintendo rooted deep inside themselves know it as Mario Day. Mario Day, or in this case MAR10 (March 10) has been celebrated by fans and Nintendo themselves for a while now, and each year it's great to see what new and exciting products, teasers, and more that get released. The LEGO Group doesn't want to miss out on the fun either, and have a bunch of great products available to help support your celebration of MAR10!

Wiltopia – Anteater Care (721012) Review

If you saw our review before the holidays of the Wiltopia Animal Care Centre, you will remember that we were very excited about this line of Playmobil products. I have always loved animals, and animal toys are almost just as good as the real thing. For a long time now, I've wanted Playmobil to do a Zoo line of toys, with enclosures and everything. Who doesn't want to build a zoo? The Wiltopia sets, however, are the next best thing, and each comes with a few little animals, so our home collection is slowly growing. Let's take a look at the Anteater Care set!

Lego Celebrates National Puzzle Day

If you haven’t figured it out yet, almost every single day is the International or National Day of something. And of course there is a National Puzzle Day which will be happening on Sunday, January 29th. Puzzles are great, and a multitude of things can be perceived as puzzles. Obviously puzzles and puzzles, but so also are Rubik’s Cubes, and yes…even LEGO can be perceived as a sort of puzzle. Some sets are better than others when it comes to…

Hot Wheels Finger Boards a Nostalgic Journey

When you hear the word “Hot Wheels” you probably instantly think about diecast cars. And no one would blame you for having that thought. But what if I told you that Hot Wheels is also making…finger skateboards? Enter the Hot Wheels Skate Fingerboards, a bit larger than you remember, and so very cool. My kids have been playing with them for a few weeks now, so let’s see how they hold up. Logan is really getting into skateboarding so when…

Is This Batman Set LEGO’s Best Small Set?

This review needs to start with a story. Way back in September, The LEGO Group sent over one of their highlighted Batman sets for 2022, the very fun and great build of the batmobile. Unfortunately, that set ended up at a neighbors house who was vacationing in Florida for...months. After being picked up by a relative of the neighbor, it took the very long journey all the way to Arizona and back, before finally landing on my door a few days ago. Almost two months later. So, the hype for the LEGO DC Batman Batmobile Tumbler: Scarecrow Showdown which is only 400 ...

LEGO Galaxy Explorer LEGO Set Review

When I saw that the LEGO Galaxy Explorer had about 1200 pieces in it, I was expecting a fairly decent build, but nothing compared to the sets I've reviewed that had 1000s upon 1000s of pieces. Boy was a I wrong. Earlier this month we detailed sets that would be nostalgic for adults in 2022, and we listed this set as one of them. Now we are here to tell you why it is so good, and why it would make a great gift this holiday season!
