It's been a few days since Bakugan: Champions of Vestroia launched on Nintendo Switch. As we had a lot on our plate with upcoming console launches and tech drops, we are a bit late to the party on the review front. From what I've read this week, I'm actually a bit shocked. Could a game that Nintendo gave so much love to by featuring it in a Nintendo video fall so short? According to reviewers yes, but after at least a dozen hours, my kids have provided an emphatic, no.

The Jackbox Party Pack 7 Review
There’s no better way of rounding out a dinner party than to load up Jackbox. The mini-game compilations are fantastic fun, often come to Gamepass, and, more amazing than anything, are now up to their seventh pack. This latest compilation brings with it five new games, each worth looking at. For what it is, there’s nothing quite like the Jackbox compilations, and I think if you know you’ll get the use out of it, it’s worth every penny. But the…

It’s 2020 and that means aliens are going to invade about any second now. If those aliens are half as useful as the Pikmin, it’ll be a good day for our planet. The little blighters are happy to be tossed into walls, chucked at enemies, fed whatever yellowish goop happens to be lying around… On second thoughts, maybe this isn’t such a great idea. A better idea was Nintendo porting Pikmin 3 from the Wii U to the Switch. The…

Oceanhorn is a series that's very Zelda inspired. The first game was like a combination of A Link to the Past and the Wind Waker. And now there's a second game and it looks like Wind Waker meets Skyward Sword. The first game was good, but can the second build upon that and be even better? Let's take a look at Oceanhorn 2: Knights of the Lost Realm for the Nintendo Switch!
Read MoreCook, Serve, Delicious! 3?! Review (Xbox One)
Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3?! takes the fevered cooking game on the road, which opens up a slightly different gameplay style while further refining the original gameplay concept along the way. All three of the games in the series amount to what is a frantic rhythm game as orders come in associated with specific sequences of button presses to complete. For many of the early orders, this can lead a player to a zen-like experience of hitting the sequences without much…
Read MorePumpkin Jack Review
We are knee-deep in the spooky season, which I always find myself playing spooky games throughout, this year was delighted to find a trick not treat in my goodie bag in Pumpkin Jack. Which is a 3D platformer much in the same style as the cult classic MedEvil with a bit of a modern flair. The peaceful Boredom Kingdom, with its happy citizens, monotonous calm… and adorable little bunnies, has sent the Devil himself into a flying rage! With dreams…
Read MoreYs Origin Review
Ys is a long running series that doesn’t get a lot of attention. I’ve played a couple of the games but Ys Origin for the Nintendo Switch is the first time that I’ve really given the series a fair chance. Is Ys Origin worth a look or is this an entry in the long running series that you should skip? Ys Origin isn’t a modern action/rpg. It is most definitely an old school action rpg. The game’s story is a…

Read More9 Monkeys of Shaolin Review
Whatever happened to the brawler genre? One day, every game was a brawler, and the next it was gone. It had become retro, with new content consigned to stylised sequels like the incredible Streets of Rage 4. 9 Monkeys of Shaolin is an attempt to bring those old titles back in something feeling a little fresher – and it mostly succeeds. But not just that. 9 Monkeys of Shaolin is a perfect combination of genre and theme, bringing back kung-fu…

Nickelodeon, a major part of most people’s childhoods of a certain generation. Myself, I was a bit older but still enjoyed some of the original Nicktoons like Doug, Rocko’s Modern Life, Ren + Stimpy, etc etc. Over the years they have done numerous mash-up games such as Nicktoons Unite (which was awesome), Sports games, racing games, and yes even racing sequels like this one. Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2 is just what you think it is, a typical kart racer-inspired heavily…
