Switching to Bayonetta

On the Wii U, I played a demo of Bayonetta but I never played the full game. I didn’t know if the game would be something I’d like or not. When Adam Roffel asked if I wanted to review Bayonetta for the Nintendo Switch, I said yes. Would I like Bayonetta? I wasn’t sure, but I knew there were a lot of people who liked it on Wii U. Is Bayonetta a good game on the Switch? Here’s my preview…

Faceoff Wired Pro Controller from PDP for Nintendo Switch

If you are anything like me, you have likely applauded Nintendo for the invention of the Joy-Con. It is an ingenious bit of technology that makes the Nintendo Switch compatible for two players, right out of the box. But let's be real, if the opportunity was available, and funds unlimited, everyone would purchase 4 Nintendo Pro Controllers and be done with these Joy-Con controllers all together. Sadly, at ...

If you haven't had the opportunity to check out Dragon Quest Builders via the demo available on the eShop, stop what you are doing, pick up your Switch, and download it now. Just A Night In the Woods?

How do I even explain Night in the Woods? How do you judge a game when you don’t fully understand it? Night in the Woods for Nintendo Switch is unlike any game I’ve ever played before. Its an adventure game, sure, but it has platforming, some puzzles, and lots of wandering around. Night in the Woods is more story focused than anything else. Its basically an interactive story? Although even that sounds like its selling the game short. Lets take…

Although no one will be surprised that this has happened, many will be surprised it happen this quickly. As of Nintendo's latest financial release, the Nintendo Switch is sitting just shy of 15 million unit sold, which easily topples the lifetime sales of the Wii U, which currently sits at roughly 13.5 million. For Nintendo, this is fantastic news. For Nintendo fans, this is also fantastic news, as the company is likely to continue rolling out fantastic experiences for it's consumer base!

More Thoughts From Me #105: The Importance of Demos

Recently, I read a tweet by SMG Studio, the developer of Death Squared, about their demo on the Nintendo Switch eShop for the game. They talked about the demo but also asked for feedback on it and the possibility of demos from other indie developers. They said that indies wanted to know if people wanted more demos on the eShop. Right away, I knew I wanted to talk about this. I believe that demos are very important. Square Enix recently…

Heading West: A Look At World to the West for Nintendo Switch

I really liked Teslagrad on the Wii U. The graphics were very good and the gameplay was a lot of fun. The developer of that game, Rain Games, has a new game out now for the Nintendo Switch: World to the West. The game is set in the same universe as Teslagrad, however the gameplay and graphics are very different. I received a review copy of World to the West recently. My review isn’t ready yet but I thought I…
