Crash Bandicoot 5: Unmade Game Revealed by Former Developer

News broke today that a new Crash Bandicoot game, unofficially titled “Crash Bandicoot 5,” was in development but ultimately cancelled. This revelation came from artist Nicholas Kole, previously with Toys for Bob, while discussing another cancelled project he’d been working on. Fans initially believed the scrapped project, codenamed “Project Dragon,” might have been a new Spyro game. However, Kole clarified it wasn’t Spyro-related and wasn’t being developed at Toys for Bob. He then surprised everyone by mentioning ...

Gaming Disorder? The Problem Runs Much Deeper

Gaming disorder has been in the press again. Not fully understood or even accepted as real by some, every so often there’s a spate of discussion. This has been going on for over a decade. This time, it’s this piece that has started the discussion. It’s interesting and sympathetic, and I’m not going to go to hard in on the piece itself because those experiences happened. Like anything that takes very specific individual cases from a much larger hobby that’s…

New Terminology, New Mechanics – Looking at Smuggle / Smuggling in Star Wars Unlimited

New ways to play Star Wars Unlimited are here with the latest release, Shadows of the Galaxy. About a week ago, we took a look at one of the new mechanics, Bounties, and how that could drastically change the way we play the game, in a very positive, thematic way. Perks of Being A Patient Gamer – And the Damage It’s Doing

It’s Steam Sale time, and that means those of us with powerful PCs are picking out indie games that will barely tax them. Happy holidays everyone! And yet the season has me thinking once more about the state of the gaming industry – and the perks of being a patient gamer. I must own over 1,500 games, easy. I’m hoping one of these days I’ll finally play one or two of them. But within that backlog sits every genre and…

Does Anybody Care About Beyond Good and Evil 2?

I loved Beyond Good and Evil and I’m glad the original is getting a decent modern re-release. It comes with a new mission tied to the long-promised sequel, and I’m wondering at this point what that could possibly mean. The original game was not a commercial success. Quite famously so. It sold less than 300,000 copies in the US, and it took price cuts of up to 80 percent to get there. Quick searching shows official mention of a sequel…

New Terminology, New Mechanics – Looking at Bounty / Bounties in Star Wars Unlimited

Last week, Asmodee Canada and Fantasy Flight Games sent over a few of the products that will be launching in stores when the second set of Star Wars Unlimited hits store shelves. While many trading card games will run a few sets before changing some key game mechanics - i.e., Disney adding Locations in their third release), Fantasy Flight Games has opted to make a change right away with the second set, and what we can expect is looking pretty promising.

Upgraded Bits are Nice, But Not Necessary – Board Game Rambling about Wyrmspan

Recently, Stonemaier Games sent us over a copy of Wyrmspan for review, and we think it is a brilliant game (more on that in the near future). Whenever we get review items from Stonemaier, they are sent to reviewers via the regional Stonemaier Games webstore. We have always been upfront with the fact that Stonemaier provides us the games at no-cost, but since they send it to us with free shipping, I always peruse the store and often will buy…
