Silly Lord of the Rings pun aside in the title, I went in with a bit of skepticism when folks began talking about their review units of this product, saying things like, "It's the only headset you will need" and "It says hybrid for a reason." Really, one headset to replace all others in my collection? Get out of here. Granted, I started a bit late on this review for the H3 - a solid week after it arrived was finally when I had time to unbox this thing, but I was not disappointed.

Razer recently released the second generation of their wireless earbuds, the Razer Hammerhead. These earbuds aim to combine the function of a high-quality audio experience with the gamer chic style that Razer is so well known for. The Hammerhead Gen 2's are priced at a little over half of the Apple AirPods' retail price, so it is clear that they are trying to make a serious play at this market. The latest gaming headset from ROCCAT, Turtle Beach's PC accessory brand, represents a serious step forward into the mid-high end headset market with the ROCCAT Syn Pro Air. It seems that they have used the previous 'Elo' series to springboard into the higher-end market. And let me tell you, the Syn Pro Air makes an impressive splash. While I'm apt to always purchase headsets with universal uses - i.e. I can take it with me to work for music, I can play using my Switch, and can have great audio with my Xbox - there are situations were a single headset performs a single feature so well, that I'm fine making the investment in order to have a superior experience. While it's not as universal as other headsets, when using it via my Xbox One, playing games and watching movies, it was an experience that was a treat to my ears!
