Splat the Difference Review

Can you spot the difference? Lightwood Games, the masters of word puzzle games, turns their attention to a different type of puzzle game. Splat the Difference for the 3DS is all about spotting the differences between a picture on the top screen and a picture on the bottom screen. Its a simple concept, but is it a simple game? Does Splat the Difference provide a moments distraction or is it something more?

More Thoughts From Me #35: Dragon Quest VII Impressions

When Dragon Quest 7 and 8 were brought to the 3DS in Japan, I was very excited. I loved Dragon Quest 9 and couldn’t wait to play 7 and 8 on the 3DS. I had played 8 before on the Playstation 1, but I had never played Dragon Quest 7. I was so ready to play two Dragon Quests on the 3DS. But then we heard nothing about the games coming to the US for years. About three or four…

During PAX 2016, Nintendo held a [email protected] event showcasing upcoming Wii U and 3DS indie games. Yesterday, they brought out a video recapping the event! The video and my thoughts are below. Which Indie do I think looks the best? PAX 2016 has come and gone. It was over so quick! But Nintendo doesn’t want you to forget about anything, especially not the upcoming Nindies, so they put together a recap video for their [email protected] PAX event. Please take a…

Paper Mario: Color Splash Trailer – The Adventure Unfolds

Paper Mario: Color Splash has looked good from day one in my opinion. I know there have been many naysayers of the game because there were people who didn’t like Sticker Star and they think Color Splash looks like that game. Color Splash shares some similarities to Sticker Star, but in my opinion, it looks like it’ll be a lot better then that 3DS game! And now Nintendo has released a brand new trailer for the game. We have the…

Nintendo Presentation At Gamestop Expo This Week?

The Gamestop Expo is this week. Nintendo will be at the event and there should be a presentation from them. Some new snapchat pictures from last year’s Nintendo World Championship host Kevin Pereira seem to be teasing something from Nintendo. We have the pictures below and speculation on my part as to what might be revealed! What will Nintendo show at the Gamestop Expo? My guess is that it won’t be the NX. Nintendo will likely show off a lot…

ReCore – First Impressions

This morning the review embargo for ReCore lifted ahead of its launch tomorrow, and based on what I’m seeing, reviews are very mixed. We’ve played it for 4 or 5 hours so far, and while the game begins on a big high, things begin to crumble quickly. Early, everything in ReCore feels outstanding. Finding the collectibles is a blast, using your robot allies is fun, the puzzles are engaging for the most part, and things look and sound great. After…

Lightwood Games Will Bring Splat The Difference to the 3DS Next Week

As you all should know by now, I’m a huge fan of indie developer Lightwood Games. I love their word puzzle games. Occasionally, Lightwood Games will create a non-word puzzle game too. Splat The Difference, coming next week to the 3DS, is not a word puzzle game. Instead, the player will have to spot the differences between the top and bottom screen. We have more info, a video, and my thoughts on the game below! Splat The Difference will be…
