  • Stray

Stray is another anticipated game this year as it was touted alongside the release of the PS5. This amazing game allows you to play as a little ginger stray cat in a world full of robots. So, Stray really is the perfect blend of cute and conflict, keeping it exciting and fresh.

  • Nobody Saves The World

Nobody Saves The World features a white blob that’s called Nobody, and he may not seem like your typical hero. He’s pretty slow and weak in general, but he can transform himself into all sorts of hardcore warriors to beat the enemies.

  • Splatoon 3

The third instalment in the Splatoon series is said to be the best so far. It’s said to be pretty similar to Splatoon 2, but with a much better quality of life and previous issues resolved, making the game much more enjoyable. In this game you star as a water gun toting teenager whose aim is to cover the area in your national colours.

The guns actually come in different shapes too, so you’ll be able to cover more area depending on the type of gun you have. This competitive game may be simple in it’s purest form, but it’s definitely one that you can have hours and hours of fun. This game is said to be the best in the series, so be sure to check out the latest instalment before the year is out.

There have been some bugs in the game which have led to some real funny results, but with each patch update, we should see less and less of them. So, if you’re a Pokémon lover, you’ll definitely need the latest instalment in the franchise.

  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles might not seem like it’s super relevant in 2022, but the release of Shredder’s Revenge proves otherwise. With the gameplay being like that solo fighter games of the early 90s, this game really stands out from all the others on the market at the moment.

This game is based on the original cartoon and even has the same voice actors, so you can really get a good hit of nostalgia while playing. However, just because it calls back to the days of gaming gone by, this game still has enough modern aspects that allow it to appeal to a whole new generation.

  • Kirby & The Forgotten Land

You might think that a whole game dedicated to the pink fluff that is Kirby could be a little boring, but Kirby & The Forgotten Land shows you just how fun it can be. This game allows you to play as Kirby and explore the Forgotten Lands, inhaling your enemies as you pass through.

When Kirby does swallow enemies or objects, he can actually absorb their powers and use them for his own, making this game feel truly unique. It’s still a Kirby game at heart, but it’s new take on the character really helps it to feel fresh and exciting whether you’re a new fan or diehard stan.

  • The Quarry

If you loved Until Dawn, then you’ll definitely love The Quarry! Developed by the same company as it’s predecessor, The Quarry is another great instalment from Supermassive Games. The gameplay is the same as Until Dawn, as you’ll make choices for the characters and see the results of your selections.

The aim of the game is to keep as many characters alive as possible, but still find out what’s going on at the quarry while you try to survive the night. Just like the other horror games Supermassive Games have released, The Quarry has a whole host of actors ranging from Brenda Song to David Arquette. Each time you play the game, you could get a different ending depending on what you choose to do. So, even after you complete The Quarry once, you’ll be itching to go back for more and more.

  • Tunic

Tunic is said to be like the Legend of Zelda, but with a fox instead of the familiar Link. You’ll get to explore a new mythical realm that’s filled with monsters and ghouls that you must defeat with your trusty sword. However, everything in this game is written in some sort of code, making the game all the more challenging. As well as fighting the baddies, you’ll also get to enjoy the puzzles that the game throws at you too, preventing the gameplay from getting boring.

So, while the game may be coded and need cracking, you’ll only figure it out at the end of the game. So, even when you’re done, you’ll want to play it all over again to see what you missed the first time.

So, there we have it! The top 10 games of 2022! This comprehensive list obviously doesn’t list every game, with some honourable mentions having to go to A Plague Tale: Requiem and Nintendo Switch Sports.
