More Thoughts From Me #233: The Moon Is Cursed Again

I’m back! At least for now. And I want to finally talk about Bloodstained Curse of the Moon 2. I haven’t been playing it much lately but I really love this game. Let’s talk about Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 for the Nintendo Switch!

I miss Castlevania. I wouldn’t say Castlevania is one of my top ten favorite games of all time, theres a lot of games I love, but it is somewhere on the list of games I love.

Bloodstained Curse of the Moon 2 isn’t Castlevania. It is a game thats in the same vain though. And honestly, its one of the best Castlevania-like games we’ve gotten in ages.

Curse of the Moon 2, like the previous game, lets you switch between four characters in 2D sidescrolling levels.

The retro-ish graphics are wonderful. So is the gameplay. This game is done by Inti Creates, so what else do you expect? They brought us the first Bloodstained, plus the awesome Blaster Master revival games!

The gameplay is solid. Its fun. I especially love the cat that controls a mech. I mean, c’mon, what a cool character. The guy with the gun is pretty cool too. So is the guy with the whip and the girl and…oh heck all the characters are great.

I hear you can unlock the characters from the orignal game too. I haven’t beaten Curse of the Moon 2. I admit I haven’t played the game lately. I still really love this franchise though.

We may never get a new Castlevania (or at least a new one for consoles. I hear they are doing new mobile Castlevanias…), but we have two really wonderful games that are in the same vain, with some cool unique characters, great graphics, and fun gameplay.

If you haven’t checked out Curse of the Moon and/or Curse of the Moon 2, get on it! Both of these games are well worth downloading.

More Thoughts From Me is an opinion column. The thoughts expressed here are mine and mine alone. Its such a terrible night for a curse!
