Should Super Mario Galaxy be Turned into a Nintendo Switch Collection?

Take Two launched a number of fantastic collections over the weekend on Nintendo Switch, and while financial numbers have not been released yet, fans seem to be very impressed with both the Borderlands Collection and the BioShock Collection. But that made us wonder, with very little Nintendo news on the horizon, what is the possibility we will get more collections brought over to the Nintendo Switch, either by Nintendo, or third parties? We think the probability is pretty high, at least with Nintendo titles. Here are some collections we would love to see.

Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2

It’s going to be difficult for Nintendo to charge a premium per title to bring GameCube games over to the Nintendo Switch. While a remastered version of A Link to the Past did retail for 79.99 in Canada (typical pricing for a Switch game), it’s hard to think Nintendo will do much to change up Galaxy and Galaxy 2. I see Nintendo GameCube games brought over to the Nintendo Switch to retail for 29.99 or 39.99. For that reason, I could see – and would want – a 79.99 Super Mario Galaxy collection!

Super Mario 3D Land and Super Mario 3D World

Super Mario 3D Land and Super Mario 3D World were released close to each other as flagship Mario titles on both the Nintendo 3DS (Land) and the Nintendo Wii U (World). World introduced the concept of Cat Mario, which has come back in big ways lately, via Super Mario Maker 2, and more recently, as part of the LEGO Super Mario collection hitting store shelves in August. Of all the collections we might get on Nintendo Switch, I feel Land and World make a great pairing, and it’s likely we will see these hit the Switch, especially since so many Nintendo fans missed out on World.

Pikmin Collection

Pikmin doesn’t have as big of a following as other Nintendo franchises, but it is definitely loved. People have been dying for more Pikmin action for years now, and with rumours continuing to swirl around Pikmin 4, it could be in Nintendo’s best interest to give us a Pikmin collection that includes the first three titles.

Stay tuned for Part 2 where we unveil three more collections we would want to see!
