Harvest Moon Skytree Village Has Been Announced For 3DS

This week, Natsume, creators of the Harvest Moon series, announced a brand new Harvest Moon for the 3DS. The game will be shown off at E3. We have all the details about the game so far below.

Natsume Inc. announced Harvest Moon Skytree Village this week. The new title will be for the 3DS.

Here’s how the game is described on Natsume’s facebook page:

”  Times have changed in the land known as the Oasis of the Harvest Goddess. Many people used to live in Skytree Village, and the land was lush and green. However, the power of the Harvest Goddess gradually began to wane, and the land became parched and dry.

It’s up to you revive the seven Skytrees in order to give the Harvest Goddess her power back, and, in turn, bring life back to this desolate land! Along the way, players will meet a new cast of characters (with a few returning faces!), alongside a brand new art style, new character models, and more. ”

Natsume says that the game will include “user-friendly tutorials,” and that “players will immediately be able to jump into the thick of things,”. In Skytree, players will be “customizing their farm by raising and lowering the land, creating rivers, ponds, and more.” There will also be “Upgraded tools” that “assist farmers in shaping the land more efficiently, and afterwards they can kick back and relax in their boat to do a spot of fishing!” A new animal will also be introduced in this game too! The animal is a Poitou donkey.

I like the Harvest Moon franchise, but I’m not a fan of its recent customization options. Hopefully the “user-friendly tutorials” will help with that! Although, I wish the series would get back to just being about farming or if customization is a must, it would be simpler like Animal Crossing New Leafs. That said, I like the idea of fishing in a boat!

Natsume will be showing off the new Harvest Moon during E3 (June 14-16th). We’ll make sure to post screenshots and more information about Skytree on Games Reviews when we see it!
