Games For Windows Live… Not Dead?

Games for Windows Live wasn't something most people liked, and those same individuals were only too happy to see it go the way of the dodo. PC Gamers have been talking about the service shutting down for quite some time, since a patch to Batman Arkham City effectively ditched its DRM. Microsoft have been pretty definite in what they've been saying as well... until now.

Square Solitaire Duel Review

The game is focused on multiplayer, having no single player aspects at all, not even a practice mode, which can be excused since it is a game that is on Facebook and therefore being directed to be played with friends. There isn't any real time multiplayer, it's the type where a person plays one round and waits for his/her's opponent to complete their round. After that the scores are added up, whoever has the most points from making different combinations of cards wins. The game doesn't have an energy system which is surprising for a Facebook game - you can ...

Space Run Review

It's not easy, being a delivery boy in the future. While today the worst you might come across is aggressive dogs or mustachioed old ladies frightened to open the door in case you're a little bit "ethnic," in the future you'll actually have people trying to kill you. Which is fine, because at least then you know where you stand. In Space Run your goal is to reach your destination as quickly and as safely as possible. Only one thing is certain: it ain't gonna be easy.

Monochroma Review

I think it’s very important to start off this review of the new indie puzzle game Monochroma by highlighting that the entirety of the game is only about two hours long at most. The reason I begin with this statement is so that Monochroma is judged and reviewed for what it is: a simple, short game. This is no massive open world, this is no advanced fighting system, and there is no leveling. Monochroma is exactly what it presumes to be, a quaint and monochromatic game. Now don’t misunderstand this statement to mean that this is not a decent title, because it ...

NBA 2K14 Review

It's commonly known that sports games are released every year and even though they provide a solid and realistic experience, they don't improve much over the last iteration. The NBA 2K series is no different but this doesn't seem to be a bad thing, rather than re-invent the wheel 2K Games have decided to make slight improvements, everything that made NBA 2K13 great has been improved.

EA Officially Announced Battlefield Hardline

Today Battlefield Hardline showed up at E3. I’ve not been a huge fan of the franchise, but this game immediately caught my attention. Hardline combines the gameplay of Battlefield with the well-known ‘catch me if you can’ game mode. The result seems to be a fast paced shooter with many decisions which can influence the outcome.

Out of the Park Baseball 15 Review

For baseball nerds like myself, there's nothing better than spring. Fresh batches of rookies, big stars on new squads, the inevitable, if completely misguided, World Series dream of every player and fan... and of course, the arrival of the latest Out of the Park Baseball award-winning sports simulation series. And this year's edition - the 15th - is undeniably the best yet, despite what initially looks and feels like an incremental improvement over OOTP 14. As it always is in baseball, the devil is in the details - and those who've played OOTP know just how ...

The Wolf Among Us In Sheep’s Clothing Review

The Wolf Among Us’ fourth and penultimate episode, In Sheep’s Clothing, still contains the same well written dialogue and peculiar characters, but fails to offer up anything substantial or new to the table. Following what is, in my opinion, the best episode in the series, A Crooked Mile, which left main character Bigby Wolf in a critical state, I had high hopes for this installment. This unique series is coming to an end soon, but In Sheep’s Clothing did not do anything to elicit that feeling

Bound By Flame Review

Let me start by saying that this game piqued my interest almost instantly. I saw the Steam page and trailer, and knew this was the sort of game I'd enjoy. It seemed to have everything I like in a video game. It's an RPG with skill trees, an interesting combat system, lots of quests, and item drops. By the end of Bound by Flame, I could with all honestly say that I had played a very fun title with a lot of personality. My only real complaint is that I felt like it could have been even better. In this quest-driven third person game you play a man/woman named ...

Mortal Kombat X Announced

Warner Brothers have today announced the next entry in the Mortal Kombat series. Mortal Kombat X is the long-awaited follow-up to the semi-reboot Mortal Kombat 9, which was really a a remake of sorts of the first three titles in the franchise. Where will they go next? Thankfully, we won't have to wait long to find out, with details due to come out during E3.
