When Clunky Games are Fun – Rune Factory 5

I've been playing Rune Factory 5 for the better part of 3 weeks now, and although the game is crippled by a host of issues, it's still rather fun. And this has become somewhat of a trend in the gaming industry, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. Rune Factory 5 is definitely bogged down by some serious frame rate hitches and some 'floaty' combat controls, but the core game is still a blast. After all, we can look past a few issues, right? ... right?!

Warparty Review

I've always been a sucker for RTS style games and even the worst titles have a hold on me that I cannot always describe. When the chance to review Warparty came across my desk, I was excited about the prospect. While there is definietly more issues with Warparty than I would have liked, ultimately I enjoyed what was provided. Understand my enjoyment as a crazed-RTS fan might not meet your standards. As a friend of mine stated after playing, "This is a hard pass for me." Let's dive in.

After a Month – Why I Played ARK: Survival Evolved on Nintendo Switch

Even on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, ARK: Survival Evolved has been a problematic title for numerous people. Sure, it runs better on some platforms over others, but to say it runs flawlessly on all - or even one - would be an incorrect statement. And yet somehow, I've logged a few hundred hours into my various maps on Xbox One; despite the flaws, there is a game here that I really enjoy. But how will it perform on Nintendo Switch?

Happy Birthdays Review

I love simulation games. Animal Crossing is my all-time favorite game. I’m also a huge fan of Sim City and I even like The Sims. Well, kind of. But the simulation genre really appeals to me. So I had a feeling that I would like Happy Birthdays. But how much do I like it? And does this game appeal to non-simulation genre fans? I was surprised to find that Happy Birthdays has an actual storyline. I didn’t think there would…

Xbox One X Coverage: ARK: Survival Evolved Looks Fantastic

I've been a long-time fan of ARK: Survival Evolved, and when Xbox released users statistics for 2017, it was no surprise to me that ARK was my most played game this year. The big draw to me for ARK is the gameplay, being able to jump into a game with friends, building crazy structures, taming a legion of dinosaurs, and exploring a huge open world is more important to me than graphical superiority. For the longest time - especially when the game was still in early access - it didn't look great, and at times, it handled even worse. Over this weekend I loaded up ...
