More Animal Crossing New Horizons Thoughts

Ever since the recent Animal Crossing New Horizons Direct, Nintendo has showing and talking about the new game a lot. And now they a playable demo at PAX East. Check out the footage of the demo from GameXplain below and then please come back for my thoughts on this footage and other recent info thats come out about New Horizons!

Animal Crossing New Horizons continues to look really amazing!

The new footage above shows off a pretty cool looking town, with a Nook’s Cranny, Able Sisters, and Museum already in place. We get to a bit of all of them. My favorite is the Museum. I think I could stay in there forever. Its just look fantastic. The museum got a big upgrade!

Nook’s upgraded town facilities building is shown again too. Its pretty nice. We see a bit of crafting which looks neat.

Beyond the above footage though, some extra bits of info are coming out of PAX East. It turns out you can find messages in a bottle in this new game and sometimes they’ll have D.I.Y. recipes in them!

Also, we found out something new about Nook Miles redemption. There is another list of things you can get from the Nook Miles is floating around. Turns out you can get a new cover for your Nook phone. New hairstyles and even a spiky fence recipe can be bought with Nook Miles too. There are a lot other things too! I’d say you should start saving Nook Miles right away.

Here’s one more piece of PAX info: Blathers will start in a temporary building (tent?) when he first arrives and you’ll have to donate a certain amount of exhibit items to him before the museum is made! This totally makes sense and I’m looking forward to seeing when Blathers appears.

Thanks to @ACWorldBlog for sharing these extra tidbits! You should follow them too.

Now let’s go back before PAX East. Nintendo official Animal Crossing twitter (which you should definitely follow) has been posting about the game a lot. Recently they’ve been getting into the initial game setup. First you choose your name, birthday, and appearance. Instead of questions from Rover, this time you a full blown character creator. Its pretty neat. Oh and if you ever want to change your look again, just make sure you have a mirror or vanity. The character creator will come up when you press on the mirror. How cool is that!

After you choose your look, then you choose which hemisphere you want your island to be on: Northern or Southern. I’ll definitely be going with Northern. Thats where I’m from and I am so over snow right now. UPDATE (2/28): After you choose your hemisphere, then you pick your town map!

And thats just about it! Of course, I’m sure I forgot to talk about something here. There is a lot of new info coming out all the time about the game too. I will try to write another article like this if another batch of new info releases.
Are you ready for March 20?! I know I am!
