Everdream Valley is a farm simulation game that recently released for the Nintendo Switch. We love these types of games and checked it out. Here is our review of Everydream Valley for the Nintendo Switch!

In Everdream Valley you play as a young boy or girl who spends the summer with their grandparents who live on a farm. You’ll be helping them fix things on the farm, plant and pick stuff, take care of the animals and more. The story is pretty simple and basically just setup to the gameplay.

After the game’s intro where you create the look of your character and see a short cutscene, you will find yourself on your grandparents farm. The character creator is pretty good and you can create a neat looking character. And while the basic premise may make you think of Harvest Moon, this game doesn’t limit you to the basic gameplay loop of having to tend to the farm and build it up. You are given quests to do but there is no limit on how long you take and if it gets dark out, you can go inside your grandparents house to start the next day.

There are a lot of quests in the game, but there are other non-quest things you can do like build a treehouse and explore the valley. The valley is really huge and its pretty impressive. If you like games like Harvest Moon and other farm sims, then you’ll like enjoy Everdream Valley a lot. Its a very cozy sim with no pressure for completing quests and lots of freedom. Unfortunately, while it is really fun, the game’s performance is not perfect on the Switch which does take away from the graphics and gameplay a bit.

Everdream Valley’s graphics are very nice, however slow down and object pop in as you walk around holds the game’s graphics back from being great. Even when the character runs, this game seems to move very slow. It is a nice looking game that hopefully will get some performance patches to help it run better on the Switch.

Overall, Everdeam Valley is a good game and if you like farm sims, then you should check it out. We do hope that the game will be patched to help with at least the game’s slow down issues. This is a good addition to the Nintendo Switch though and well worth checking out.

A digital code was provided for this review. Everdream Valley is available now for the Nintendo Switch!
