One Key Way to Succeed at Hyrule Warriors

When playing through Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition on Nintendo Switch, there is one thing all players can do that could ultimately be the difference between winning or defeat. How you deal with the swarming enemies is probably more important than you think, but focusing on them over objectives is a HUGE mistake!

Lost Sea – Nintendo Switch

Over the past week, I've been putting significant time into Lost Sea, a game originally released a while ago (we played on PS4) but just coming to Switch on May 31st. Lost Sea is a puzzle, exploration, RPG experience that sees you playing as a surviving castaway moving from island to island, attempting to escape the Bermuda Triangle. With colourful graphics and lots to do, Lost Sea will keep you busy for hours upon hours, even when the moments become a bit repetitive.

Is this Castlevania? No, its Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon!

You will hear a lot of people comparing Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon to the Castlevania franchise. And they are totally right to make that comparison. Bloodstained looks a lot like the Castlevania games we saw on the NES and SNES. But is it just a copycat or is Curse of the Moon something special? Forget Castlevania. We don’t need it anymore. Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon for Nintendo Switch is a game that is so much like old school…

Could the Pokémon Let’s Go Titles Add Other Regions as DLC?

When watching the trailer for Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu and Pokémon Let's Go Eevee, I began to wonder about the decision to focus on Generation 1 Pokémon. Personally, I really like the idea of doing this, and cannot wait to relive Pokémon Yellow as I play this game with my eight year old kid, who's never experienced Generation 1! But what about subsequent generations? What about the people show grew up with Pokémon Silver and Pokémon Gold? I've had a crazy thought, and...it is crazy.

Pokémon Quest First Impressions

After the Pokémon presentation last night where Pokémon Quest was revealed, I quickly hopped onto the Nintendo eShop and downloaded the game right away and took it for a spin. As a completely different experience than any past Pokémon titles - outside of perhaps Pokémon Rumble - I wasn't sure what to expect! Where my early impressions of this free-to-start experience good? Let's dive in!

More Thoughts From Me #122: Nintendo Will Rule E3 2018

The Nintendo Switch is one of the most popular systems right now. And Nintendo is bringing Smash Bros Switch to E3 this year and releasing the game this year too. So what else do you need? Does Nintendo actually need anything else? I think a lot of people would just be happy if they showed a lot of Smash Bros and nothing else. But…Nintendo won’t be happy with just Smash Bros this E3. Oh no. And while Smash will get…

Bethesda Event PAX East

One of the highlights of my PAX East Experience was Bethesda Gameplay Day on April 7th. During this time, guests had the opportunity to play The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset, The Elder Scrolls: Legends – Houses of Morrowind, Quake Champions, and try Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus on the Nintendo Switch! Ironically, the event was not in the convention center, so people didn’t even need a PAX badge to attend what was essentially a gameplay party including food, drinks, and possibly even SWAG. Yes, I said it, there was EPIC swag! Heart hands, thanks Bethesda!

Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition a Love Letter to Zelda Console Titles

When playing through Hyrule Warriors over the weekend, I quickly realized something that I've probably known for a long time: Hyrule Warriors is a love letter to all the previous Zelda console titles, and really brings all those nostalgic feels back when playing in specific areas, using specific characters, and hearing specfici tunes. Although the game isn't what you might expect from a Zelda experience - don't let that deter you Zelda fans! - there is something really great here that long time console franchise fans will love!
