Rocket League Review

Games that do not require a great amount of knowledge to execute are really, REALLY fantastic. They open up video games to a much wider audience, hauling down the barriers that would otherwise prohibit someone from taking that leap of faith. These games are not bad, mind you; despite their simplicity, they generally have one, major hook: the games are easy to play, but hard to master. Rocket League is this game, and we cannot recommend it enough.

Super Party Sports: Football

Originally sported on iOS then released on Android and now ported over to Xbox One, we have a very fun Angry Birds type game with Super Party Sports: Football. The game is quite fun and for the $4.99/£3.99 price tag it makes it an inexpensive way to enjoy a puzzle game like this.

Mario Tennis Ultra Smash Review

When the topic of Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash comes up on the internet, emotions range from disappointment to rage. After playing the game for a lot longer than I should (on my own that is) it would be hard for me to disagree with what a lot of people are saying. That being said, the sub-5 scores I have been seeing seem overly harsh, especially when I look at the number of hours I spent playing locally with others. Mario Tennis does do a lot of things wrong, but when compared to other party games, it works as well as you would want it to.

EA Sports Ultimate Team Modes are Nostalgic

Want to trade your P.K. Subban for my Jonathan Toews? Want to buy my Sidney Crosby card? No, these are not the interactions of kids on the playground, but the online interaction in EA Sports popular game mode. EA Sports introduce the Ultimate Team mode to their line-up of sports titles a number of years ago already, and have been improving the formula with each subsequent release. FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT), Hockey Ultimate Team (FUT) and Madden Ultimate Team (MUT) have scratched the nostalgic itch of those who fondly remember swapping sports cards on the ...

NBA Live 16

Every year Electronic Arts and EA Sports delivers the best Football and Hockey games with the Madden NFL and the NHL series’ respectfully. When NBA Live is released, it isn’t always the gamers first choice in basketball games but every year EA Sports does better and better on the hoops franchise and this year is no different as NBA Live 16 is much better than NBA Live 15, but there is still much more room for improvement moving forward.

Blood Bowl 2 a Great Recreation

If you are not familiar, Blood Bowl is actually a Warhammer Table Top game that is enjoyed by a fairly niche group of individuals. With its launch on console, I think a wider audience will be found. Whether these people will stay to play, however, is the real question. Despite a lackluster tutorial system which inevitably requires players to learn-as-they-play, there is a lot to love in Blood Bowl 2. Don't be confused, however, Madden fans. If you are dedicated sports game fan, this probably is not the game for you.

Madden NFL 16

NFL Madden is one of the most successful franchises released at the end of every summer just before the NFL has it’s opening kickoff of the season. Each and every year it gets us pumped for the upcoming year in the NFL and its players. NFL Madden 16 is no different this year as it comes back more fierce and intense than previous releases. The annual franchise debuted back in 1990 and more than twenty five years later it still gets fans energized and kicks in revenue for EA Sports and the NFL.

FIFA 16 Review

FIFA 16 is out today across the world - although EA Access Members on Xbox One have been playing for almost a week now. With every sports franchise, the question almost always becomes, "How much has this title improved on last years game." Sometimes, the improvements are subtle, making consumers decide whether to actually upgrade last years game over this years improved version.

NHL 16 Review

NHL 15 was a lackluster effort from EA, and everybody knew it. The excuses were many - new hardware to deal with for example - but they were all the same excuses other sports titles could have used, but didn't. NHL 16 had a lot of rectifying to do, not only with the sport it was trying to accurately recreate, but also the fan base who 'went home' disappointed after a night at the rink in NHL 15. So, does NHL 16 fix all the problems present in last years premier hockey title?
