Splatoon on the Wii U got a special demo before it came out. The demo was called a “Global Testfire” and was to test out Splatoon’s online. Like the Twilight Princess, Breath of the Wild will see a release on both the old Nintendo home console platform (Wii U) and their upcoming system, the Nintendo Switch. Deciding which version to play ultimately depends on whether you can 1) wait until you pick up a Nintendo Switch, or 2) if you buy a Nintendo Switch on day one. After seeing hours of in game footage, Breath of the Wild appears to be the gold standard for Zelda titles, meaning if you are a true fan, you will probably want to play it on day one.

The Nintendo Switch launch day is either going to be extremely exciting or extremely disappointing. To be honest, it's going to be great because I'll be playing Breath of the Wild. But will my day one purchase be just for one game, or will it have the longevity that the Wii U never had. That is my worry as we get closer to the launch of the Switch.

From all account, the Nintendo Switch event in Toronto was a fantastic experience for those lucky enough to attend. It all kicked off Friday for a press and VIP event with minimal crowds and lots of accsess to some of the biggest games coming to the Nintendo Switch around launch.
