When you're talking gaming classics, there are few titles that actually manage to live up to that word. The medium just hasn't been around long enough, nor did it have the early popularity, to create the level of icon that early-ish film did. If anybody, Sonic the Hedgehog deserves to be one of those gaming icons, and his first adventure is coming to the 3DS eShop in the UK this week.

Warner Bros. have today announced LEGO The Hobbit, a new LEGO game based in the world of Peter Jackson's latest epic fantasy trilogy. If LEGO Lord of the Rings is anything to go by, there'll be more than enough reference to JRR Tolkien's one-film-max 1937 novel as well.

The nominees for Spike VGX awards have been announced, with Grand Theft Auto V receiving the most nominations. Formerly known as Spike Video Game Awards, VGX will take place on December 7th, this time giving the fans a chance to voice their opinion by voting for their favorites on the official website. Nintendo has pulled the SwapNote application from the 3DS due to users sending “offensive material.” The free app allowed people to send notes and photos to one another online, and apparently some of those using the program were being a little too naughty for Nintendo’s liking. Because of this, now SwapNote is no longer available worldwide, and it doesn’t seem likely that it will ever come back. All users have been notified of this removal via a message that pops…

Pokemon X and Y have been out for a short while now, and it's no secret that the Poke-freaks out there have already managed to get through to the end. There's no doubt whatsoever that these people would consume every single piece of Pokemon content going, so it only makes sense that there would be DLC for X and Y, right?

Eiji Aonuma, producer of Nintendo’s Zelda series, stated in a Gamespot interview that The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds had to be altered for the 2DS. The reason behind these changes is that, originally, some of the puzzles were designed to be solved by using 3D. At a Japanese event not too long ago, there was a video showing the history of the Pokemon franchise. It was a fairly well made video, but probably wouldn't have have mattered nearly as much if not for a short two or three second clip at the end, which showed an almost fighter-like set-up starring Lucario.

Finally! GTAV is mere hours away from releasing worldwide. Are you excited? Are you one of the lucky few who got it early? Needless to say, it's my most anticipated game since.. well since GTAIV I suppose. Still though, let's not forget all those other releases this week too.
