More Thoughts From Me #77: Another Look At RPG Maker FES

Not that long ago, I did a review of RPG Maker FES for the 3DS. The object of the game, of course, is to make rpgs. You can also download rpgs that other people have made and play them. Though, at the time I reviewed the game, there weren’t many rpgs to play yet. So I decided, for this column, to go back to the game and see if anybody came out with a cool rpg yet. Let’s take a…

Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles Review

Harvest Moon type games have an instant attraction to so many gamers because of the laid back nature of their game play mechanics. Generally, these games rarely ever have an adventure or story component too them, which makes them fairly one-dimensional. Enter Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles. Part exploration, part adventure, part crafting, and part farming, this title takes the best components of numerous genres and creates a relaxing, ...

Lego Marvel Superheroes 2 Reveal: Spider-man Homecoming

Spider-man Homecoming was an awesome movie. I won’t even pretend to be unbiased about that movie. But one of the things that I didn’t really care for in the movie was his “original” costume. I guess it was more realistic for a first costume, but still. Why am I talking about this? I’m talking about it because today it was announced that first costume of Peter’s is coming to Lego Marvel 2! Like I said, I’m not a fan of…

Hey Pikmin! Demo Impressions

Yesterday, Nintendo released a demo of Hey Pikmin! on the 3DS eshop. I downloaded the demo and played it. Today I want to give you my impressions. Is the Hey Pikmin! demo any good? Hey Pikmin! is a different take on the Pikmin franchise. Normally, Pikmin is firmly in the real time strategy genre. Hey Pikmin! changes up the formula. The demo of Hey Pikmin! (out now) includes three levels for players to check out. These levels place this game…

Great Support for 2DS/3DS From Nintendo

Nintendo generally always has a good pulse on what the audience thinks about their products, and often will adjust course to meet those high expectations. I strongly feel like that is why we got the Nintendo Switch when we did, and also the reason why Nintendo continues to support the 2DS and 3DS despite the Switch beginning to encroach on that on-the-go Nintendo territory. We know all about the Switch and what support it has, but what about the 3DS. Well, for those fans, things are looking incredibly bright.
