City Action Fire Truck and Ambulance a Great Playmobil Product

My youngest child is in love with Playmobil, and over the past year or so he’s seemed to move away from fantasy sets and into more realistic sets, primarily in the City, Pony, and Country themes. Last week, we built both the City Action Fire Truck and the City Action Ambulance, and both provided a fantastic experience. Let’s take a look at each, and see why these are magnificent additions to your Playmobil collection.

City Action Fire Truck

Included: 2 PLAYMOBIL figures. Accessory elements include a fire hose, megaphone, radio, oxygen devices, fire axe, water cannon, broom, 3 pilons and a fire arm. 1 x AAA battery required. Dimensions: 12.2 x 4.9 x 14.3 in (LxWxH) (with ladder)

“Be a hero in PLAYMO City with the PLAYMOBIL Fire Truck, featuring an extending ladder that spins 360 degrees and a rotating and swiveling water cannon to knock down the flames. The set includes four water arrows. Equip your figures with a respirator and oxygen tank for the rescue mission. Use the large compartments on both sides of the vehicle to store the mission equipment.”

There is a lot to like about the City Action Fire Truck, and one of those things was not how many stickers I had to put on the dang truck! Listen, it’s a Playmobil set so there will be some sticker adhesion required – just, this one seems to have more than most, they are all really long, and it just was a bit frustrating. There, that was the bad.

Now onto what is great. My kids absolutely love a toy that includes lights and sounds, and after popping in a AAA battery into the compartment and snapping the lights on the top of the truck, it came alive like almost nothing else. You pay a bit of a premium for this feature, but I think it definitely enhances the gameplay.

What I also like about the truck is how much stuff it comes with. Tools for fighting fire, complete oxygen tank setups including masks, water pieces to shoot out of the water cannon (yes, it really does shoot), and so much more. With two included figures, it’s a great set to share with another person. While only one person can drive the truck, obviously, both kids can have one character to play with. When you factor in all the included pieces, there is a ton to do, and when my kids had all their other Playmobil out on the carpet, there was very little fighting.

City Action Ambulance

Included: 3 PLAYMOBIL figures: a female and a male paramedic and a woman. Accessory elements include a stretcher, infusion stand, oxygen apparatus, operating instruments, stethoscope, plasters, head bandage and a first-aid kit. 1 x AAA battery required. Dimensions: 11.2 x 4.7 x 5.1 in (LxWxH) (without antenna)

“Grab your stethoscope and head to the rescue with the versatile Ambulance from PLAYMOBIL. This amazing set features an ambulance with siren sounds and opening back door with space for a stretcher. Easily access the ambulance’s interior thanks to the removable roofs. The vehicle has various compartments for storing all the necessary medical equipment.”

There is a ton going on with this City Action Ambulance set. Like the Fire Truck, this set comes with flashing lights and sounds that are powered by one AAA battery. Again, I felt these sounds enhanced the experience my kids had, and while I’m sure a few extra dollars were added to the overall cost of the toy to incorporate this feature, it was well worth it.

Like the Fire Truck, the Ambulance comes fully stocked. It even includes a stretcher for the patient! Add to that all the bandages available, the fluid back and stand, and all the doctor tools in the briefcase, and you have a set that can last for hours. Unlike the Fire Truck set, which we felt required other Playmobil sets to enjoy, the Ambulance is great just on its own. With the included third figure to act as the patient, there really isn’t a need for any other sets if you don’t want to spend the money.

If you do, however, the City Action Ambulance fits in very well.
