Nickelodeon, a major part of most people’s childhoods of a certain generation. Earlier this year, when we unboxed and reviewed our Nintendo Switch, we also looked at a pile of accessories from Performance Design Products. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a hit! Nintendo has released early sales figures for the game and has said that it is the fastest selling game in the Mario Kart franchise. Nintendo may have finally delivered on their promise to licence out their favorite franchise characters. Yesterday, big news came out of Japan that Free DLC was coming to Mario Kart (currently Japan only) which includes a Mercedes themed kart. In appears that in return, Mario is making an appearance in the latest Japanese Mercedes commercials.

It has been a long wait. It seems like years since we received our first screens, months since that detailed, energetic Nintendo Direct... Now, it will only be a little over a week before we can all play it. It's almost Mario Kart time, and it just cannot seem to come fast enough. I had zero desire to sit down and write this up. I don't want to tell you about Mario Kart, I don't want to discuss Mario Kart, and I definitely don't want to waste valuable time editing anything about Mario Kart.

The tune many are singing right now is that Mario Kart 8 is a make-or-break title for the Wii U. While I originally agreed, a brief conversation with GamesReviews' own Mat Growcott made me change my mind, slightly. My take on the situation is that one game does not save a system, but, if released at a crucial time, it can be the catalyst that changes everything.

Nintendo succeeded in impressing an awful lot of people with Mario Kart 8. Not only does the gameplay look strong and original, but the addition of a bonus digital title with every purchase makes it a bargain on any level. Not to waste even a small part of that excitement, they've today released a brand new video showcasing the biggest change coming to the franchise: anti-gravity racing.

The new generation is definitely here now, and for Nintendo it's been almost 18 months since they released their latest device, the Wii U (and even longer since the 3DS came out). Perhaps it's no surprise then that the house of Mario is shutting down their online services from last-gen. With almost no expections, the Wii and DS are now offline consoles.

Fancy something a little bit Trials on the iOS app store, but not sure what you want? Maybe you search, only to come across Real Flying Racing Rider Hero from Li Huizhen. It seems familiar somehow. Why? Because they ripped their logo directly from Mario Kart.
