Hey Pikmin

I got a very unexpected birthday present this year. Adam Roffel, editor-in-chief of GamesReviews.com, got me Hey! Pikmin. I really wanted the game but I didn't think I'd ever be able to buy it. So I was really excited and couldn't wait to play it. Now, I've played the game a bunch and wanted to share with you my thoughts on it so far!

The Pikmin franchise has been one of Nintendo's best since the original title released many years ago on the Nintendo Gamecube. Since then, Nintendo has been careful to not over extend the franchise, but only releasing new titles every few years. Until 2017, Pikmin has lived and died on the home entertainment console, never finding its way to the Nintendo 3DS family of system. With the release of Hey! Pikmin, that all changes, as does the game's formula, to make it more appropriate for the handheld device.

Hey Pikmin! and Miitopia are both coming out on July 28th (with the New 2DS XL). Here are commercials for both games! Hey Pikmin! currently has a demo on the 3DS eshop. The 3DS family is long from dead, and although many out on the Internet are thinking it's curtains for one of Nintendo's most successful consoles, Nintendo continues to support the platform with new games, and yes, even a new system that will be out this month. Yesterday, Nintendo released a demo of Hey Pikmin! on the 3DS eshop. I downloaded the demo and played it. Today I want to give you my impressions. Is the Hey Pikmin! demo any good? Nintendo generally always has a good pulse on what the audience thinks about their products, and often will adjust course to meet those high expectations. I strongly feel like that is why we got the Nintendo Switch when we did, and also the reason why Nintendo continues to support the 2DS and 3DS despite the Switch beginning to encroach on that on-the-go Nintendo territory. We know all about the Switch and what support it has, but what about the 3DS. Well, for those fans, things are looking incredibly bright.

When Nintendo announced that the next Pikmin would be a 2D side-scroller for the 3DS, I had the opposite reaction of a lot of people. I was very excited! The other Pikmin games are cool, but Hey!
