But we haven’t really had anything quite like that until then. Obviously, since then it has blown up to a worldwide phenomenon with people camped out for cards, buying games left and right, storming Build-A-Bear to get plushies…its been a crazy ride. I’ve gone…

Pokemania set to take over yet again, Pokemon Snap is coming

With just a few more days until Pokemon Snap officially launches for the Nintendo Switch, and I for one am very excited. While I enjoyed it for about an hour, while nostalgia dripped all over me, I quickly realized it was a somewhat shallow experience that really doesn't hold up well so many years later. This begged the question: why was the original Pokémon Snap so successful? I think I might have the answer, or at least a rational.

The original title came out in 1999 for the Nintendo 64 and my wife (girlfriend) at the time and I spent countless hours running through Pokemon Island to get the best scores possible and fill up our Pokedex. Because the ’90s was also super gimmicky we even went to Blockbuster Video to print out some stickers of our…

Is it unfair to make judgements based on an introductory trailer for a game we've never seen before? Absolutely, it is unfair. Am I going to do it anyways? Of course!
