Nova Lands Impressions on Nintendo Switch

Automation games are becoming more and more common. One of my favourites from the past few years has been Autobots, but I think a new favourite has emerged. Nova Lands is doing a lot of really great things. Does it set itself apart from others? I’m not 100% sure, but what I do know is that I’m really enjoying my time with the game .

In Nova Lands, players will be building up their automation systems, collecting resources and doing a bunch of other things. There are a number of bosses that will need to be tackled but getting to them will take time. You will be mining ore, collecting ore, smelting ore, and more. Now take that, and extrapolated across other resources like farming, animals, and other natural resources.

The systems all work really well together. I enjoy collecting things, and I enjoy making things from other things. You’ll be doing that a lot in Nova Lands. As you move on with your production, and make bigger and better things, you can get bots that will do a lot of the work for you. There are multiple islands that you can explore, and each of these islands will provide different resources that you can use. The game progresses as you unlock islands. You will require more and more complex resources in order to move the game forward.

One of these islands has a number of buildings on it. These buildings will allow you to upgrade your gear, will allow you to upgrade your buildings, and will allow you to change your appearance. In fact, there are certain elements of the game that require you to have a different appearance, and new appearances can be unlocked by beating bosses and progressing the game.

The bosses themselves are not overly complex. In fact, once you figure out how they work, it’s pretty easy to beat them and move on with the game. But the bosses are not what Nova Lands is all about. This is a game about innovation. This is a game about making production lines. The bosses, and the storyline, our secondary. This is a city building game, and one that I’ve really been enjoying.

The artwork is fantastic and the audio is greatest well. For the most part. The game functions very well, however, there have been a number of instances of the game crashing. I think over time, the development team will be able to fix these with updates. But for now, if you plan to play the game today, expect a few unexpected problems. The game has a very generous saving system that will save after each day, so you’ll never lose that much progress. If you enjoy building up a city, creating production lines, and battling the odd boss here and there, this is a game that you will really enjoy. I’m really excited to see where this game goes in the future, as there are ample opportunities for DLC.
