Watch Dogs Might Be Coming This Holiday Season

If a recent batch of leaked images are to be believed, Ubisoft’s upcoming new original IP Watch Dogs could be hitting store shelves as early as this holiday season.

Kotaku was the first to get a hold of the images which included a pre-order poster for Watch Dogs with the tagline “Available Holiday 2013.” The rumored release window follows close on the heels of previous rumors suggesting that Watch Dogs was set to be released for both current and next-gen consoles.

When questioned about the authenticity of the leaked promotional materials and the validity behind the supposed holiday release window, Ubisoft naturally declined to comment on either. However, Ubisoft senior vice president of sales and marketing Tony Key did release a statement saying that he and the rest of the Ubisoft team are “pleased with the response for Watch Dogs from media and fans.”

Fans hoping for some concrete new info about Watch Dogs don’t have to leave empty handed though. A leaked EB Games listing which was spoted by NintendoEnthusiast has revealed that in addition to the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, Watch Dogs will also be coming to Nintendo’s newest console the Wii U. Again Ubisoft wasn’t ready to confirm or deny the rumor, all that they *could* confirm was that they’d be doing their own reveals at their own event at a later time.

Lastly, if you happen to also be a Rainbow Six fan who’s still waiting for new info regarding Ubisoft’s *other* highly anticipated project Rainbow Six: Patriots, you’ll be happy to hear that NintendoEnthusiast is also reporting that Rainbow Six: Patriots will be heading to the Wii U as well and might even share a release date with Watch Dogs.

Again, bear in mind that at this point these are all still rumors. Until Ubisoft decided to tip their hand, just remember to take all that you hear with a grain of salt.
