The Order: 1886 Visuals Detailed

theorder

There’s a lot of excitement about The Order: 1886, a game that was briefly teased at last years E3 and which has only had a splattering of information since. The supernatural Victorian title was earlier this week revealed to be a single-player experience, with no additional social or multiplayer features. Yesterday Andrea Passino revealed some details on the visual features of the game.

Andrea Pessino, founder of Ready at Dawn, took to Twitter to discuss why the game looks the way it does, and why they’ve chosen 30FPS over 60FPS.

In layman’s terms, this means that Ready at Dawn are building a certain sort of filmic atmosphere with The Order, an atmosphere best supported by a certain visual style. Those that are obsessed with 1080p and 60FPS might feel underwhelmed by the announcement. As Pessino says though, there current build is in no way less tech-intense than it would be otherwise, especially because of that anti-aliasing.
