Looking back on 2015 from a Reviewers Perspective

Being a video games reviewer is a lot more than just playing games and writing opinions. For some, yes, that is all they do. For myself, it is my job contact developers, publishers, and public relations agencies, plan our game coverage, stay on top of what games we have in the system, and more. Often, we get overloaded with content to work through, and it takes careful decision making and planning to get everything done in a timely fashion. However, I like to take the first few days of a new year to reflect on individuals and agencies that have made my life as a reviewer that much easier.

Nintendo of Canada

It would really be hard to find a better Public Relations agency then Cohn and Wolfe, the Canadian company in charge of Nintendo. Despite some staff moving on and others coming on board, the company has maintained professional standards. I’ve never had a bad experience working with this company, and they have made my life so much easier. If codes or physical copies of games are available, I will get them; if they are not, the company always lets me know. 9/10, because of the fantastic service I receive, I don’t have a problem buying a game or two myself to review! I want to cover there stuff.

Special thanks to Viktoria and Liane for there hard work. Looking forward to 2016!

Microsoft of Canada

Although my relationship with Microsoft of Canada has not been as long as my relationship with Nintendo, the individuals at Veritas agency have also been top notch. Whether its inquiring about games, working through hardware issues, or attending events, they treat everyone like first class citizens. For Microsoft PR in Canada, whether your site pulls in millions of hits a month, or only 10s of thousands, you get equal treatment. Robert and the rest of the team are always quick to answer emails, send out review codes, and even once in a while, fun gift packs in the mail! I still wear my Halo t-shirts and Fallout hoodies, and have already used my Forza notepad for work!

To Robert and the rest of the staff at Veritas, thank you for making 2015 a great year!

Performance Design Products

Performance Design Products are in a world of their own. Whether it’s headsets, controllers, or loads of interesting and fairly priced accessories, I know I will always get great service from Jake and the rest of the team. Jake is always on top of emails, and he and the company are excellent individuals to follow on Twitter. They are always communicating with fans and media, and are quick to address any questions or problems that might arise. If you have followed are site long enough you know that we are huge fans of PDP products! We really look forward to looking at more items in 2016.

Thanks Jake for making 2015 a great year!

Evolve PR

Tom at Evolve PR has established an excellent team who seem to work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Through their newly established platform, Evolve Terminal, dealing with a PR agency has never been easier. When you do need to interact with Tom’s staff, you know that no matter who you are working with, you will get timely answers and excellent service.

Thanks to everyone at Evolve PR!

I could go on and on. So many people have made 2015 a great year for Games Reviews. I will list a few others below, but to all of you, thanks again for 2015 and I look forward to our continued relationships in 2016!

Rich – Forty Seven PR Agency

Amanda – Warner Bros.
