Sonic Mania Review

When I heard another Sonic game was going to be release, I - along with almost everyone else - was pretty skeptical as things have not been great as of late for the blue blur. That being said, I've looked forward to every Sonic release since first playing the games back on the SEGA Genesis, so despite having some reservation about how this title would perform, I had some nostalgic excitement none-the-less. After going through most of the game, enjoying numerous bosses and bonus stages, I can say this is the happiest I've been playing a Sonic game in a long time. Sonic Mania is pure, fantasmic fun!

Pixel Pals As a Household Item

Having nerdy household items is something my wife and I really enjoy. We have an Infinity Gauntlet oven mitt, a Super Nintendo Entertainment System cartridge as a wooden cutting board, and now, we are using Pixel Pals from Performance Design Products as nightlights in our kids rooms. As a reviewer, I've been fortunate enough to get a number of Pixel Pals for review from PDP, but when I like a product, I always like to head to the store and pick up a few extras paid out of my own pocket. Free products are great, yes, but supporting these companies is equally as important.

Pokémon Sun and Moon: Burning Shadows Decks Quite Balanced

Over the last week, and basically ever since The Pokémon Company sent over a box of the latest Pokémon Sun and Moon expansion, I've been using the pre-maid Burning Shadows decks to play a number of rounds with my seven year old son. We would swap decks often to keep things a bit fresh, but never once deviated from what The Pokémon Company placed in the boxes. On the whole, things were pretty balanced; although I won more often than my son, it was often chalked up too more experience, rather than better card types.

Instead, these games are produced by companies often contracted to do some type of work on a video game. In the case of Cloudgine - who has done work on the upcoming Xbox One title Crackdown 3 - there latest title They Came from Space will show off a whole new cloud physics engine.

Have you ever played a video game, sunk many hours into it, and realize that a familiar phrase out of your mouth was, "What the hell did I just watch and play?"
