Ubisoft Holiday Buyers Guide

Every year we here at GamesReviews.com want to make you as informed as possible when doing your holiday shopping, one of those features is our Holiday shopping guides. This one specifically is aimed at Ubisoft. So here are our picks for what to grab this holiday season!

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction

blank

This game is a good pick up for any hardcore shooter fan, especially those of Rainbow Six Seige. This takes the familiar formula of extraction games and ads a bit of a paranormal flair to it. You can read my full review HERE .

The operators work just like they do in Rainbow Six Seige, each has its perks and special abilities as well as its XP level. As you level up you can unlock new tech that will provide you with new gadgets and enhancements you can use in your mission. But there is always the risk of going MIA (missing in action)

Operators that are downed in the containment zone are protected by a medical device that dispenses a prophylactic serum that causes the wearer to enter stasis, keeping the alien parasite from taking over its host for up to several hours or days. Operators can be saved by squads returning to the scene of the encounter. This gameplay feature will encourage players who have invested in upgrading certain characters to double-down and reenter with a new squad to save their valuable operator and all their upgrades and gear.

There are numerous operators to choose from right out the gate with the ability to double them as you play through the game. There are tons of upgrades and new explosives, gadgets, and other stuff as well if you invest the time in it.

Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection

Now this collection has been available on Playstation and Xbox for a number of years BUT, this year it was released on the Nintendo Switch. Considering the limited access Nintendo gets to the franchise this is an excellent pick up for some Assassin’s fix on the go. Many consider the Ezio Period (Assassin’s Creed 2, Brotherhood, and Revelations) to be the pinacle of the series. Now keeping in mind that they are older games they can feel a bit dated, but considering Nintendo’s technical limitations, this actually works in their favor.  Pick this one up for any stealth/adventure fan gamers in your life this holiday season.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

blank

Now this game has been out a few years but the massive expansion hit this year, and Ubisoft has released their endgame plans for this game which has recieved TREMENDOUS and continuous support which makes this one of the best games this generation. With sales going on all season you can pick up the complete edition for a great price and get countless hours of enjoyment out of this game. It is easily the greatest scale for an Assassin’s Creed to date and sets the standard for the future of the franchise.

Rabbids: Party Of Legends

blank

This is a big year for the Rabbids, this was the first of two games this year highlighing the maniac rabbids adventures. Bringing things back to the days of the Wii, with the super popular at the time Raving Rabbids party games, Party of Legends is the spiritual successor to all of that. A great game for the family to all gather around the TV and get into some shenanigans. It is available on every console.

Just Dance 2023

blank

A hit in every household with kids for as long as I can remember at this point, just Dance 2023 will continue that tradition of holiday dance parties across the globe. Featuring normal mainstays of Brittney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga and more including songs from Encanto, it’s bound to be a good time. I don’t expect any major changes for this years iteration but if it ain’t broke…. and this is certainly a cash cow for Ubisoft every year.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope

blank

Follow up to the blockbuster original Sparks of Hope continues to mash up the worlds of the Rabbids and the Mushroom Kingdom. Here is what we thought of the game,

Mario and Rabbids: Sparks of Hope is even better than the first game in this unique franchise. Ubisoft crafted a beautiful game, with a fun, challenging battle system, and tons of other things to do too. The game isn’t perfect, but it’s pretty close. It is definitely better than the first game in this franchise. We can’t wait to see what Ubisoft will do with a third Mario and Rabbids game! Mario and Rabbids: Sparks of Hope is a must play, especially for strategy fans.

Our own Daniel Fugate took a look at this one and really loved it!

blank Kevin Austin has been in gaming journalism in one way or another since the launch of the Nintendo Gamecube. Married and father of 3 children he has been gaming since the ripe age of 6 when he got his first NES system and over 30 years later he is still gaming almost daily. Kevin is also co-founder of the Play Some Video Games (PSVG) Podcast network which was founded over five years ago and is still going strong. Some of his favorite gaming series includes Fallout and Far Cry, he is a sucker for single player adventure games (hence his big reviews for Playstation), and can frequently be found getting down in one battle royale or another. If it's an oddball game, odds are he's all about it.
